I reverse-engineered the DoorDash API and made an app that randomly chooses what I eat. The web app is built using React in the frontend and Django in the backend.
Sometimes when you want to build a program, you need access to data that you don't have. Using a combination of the requests and beautiful soup libraries, we can get that data from websites online. In this video, we will go over the things that you need to know to get started web scraping using Python such as learning HTML and using the web developer tools to facilitate your work. I also talk about how you should change the method for web scraping using the requests_html library or Selenium when you encounter websites that use a lot of JavaScript as is common with single-page web applications (SPAs) and other sites that use JavaScript to dynamically load HTML content.

I made my own rip-off version of Alexa using Python and I called it Karen. It uses a raspberry pi 4 as the brains of the system, two speakers that I salvaged from a surround sound system, some electronic components, and I even made a mobile app that lets you install and manage addons. All of the source code, 3d models, and schematics for the build are open source and are hosted on GitHub.

I bought a Nerf gun and turned it into a controlled to play Call of Duty Warzone (COD). The controller uses the trigger and other buttons already on the gun, but I also added extra buttons that I 3D printed to perform more in-game actions like moving, plating, and jumping. The whole thing is powered by a Raspberry Pi 4 and Python scripts that I wrote for both the client (Raspberry Pi) and the server (gaming pc). Movement is controlled by getting accelerator data from an old Nexus 5 Android phone via ADB logcat which is logged using a custom app I made on Android Studio with Kotlin.

In this video, we will be creating a program using emojis! This is possible due to the programming language called emojicode. Emojicode is a programming language that uses emojis as part of the syntax for writing code.

I built a web app/program that decides what I eat by reverse-engineering the Door Dash private API using Django and React, then I took the app to different places to get some food that was completely chosen by the program at random! Some of the choices are definitely choices that I would have not made myself.

I tested ChatGPT to see if it can do my computer science homework and compared it to my own work to see how well it followed instructions. I gave it 3 different assignments from 3 different classes; operating systems (programming in C), databases (MongoDB queries), and programming languages (logic puzzle with a prolog program). Overall, I was very impressed with ChatGPT's capabilities, it was able to complete 2/3 assignments.

I made a Roomba that has a flamethrower! The whole thing is controlled using an Xbox One controller and is powered by the Raspberry Pi Zero W and Python. The whole assembly was built around a butane bottle using 3D printed parts and is controlled using servos. The Roomba is controlled via serial communication using custom built software written in Python.

I made my own rip-off version of Alexa and I called it Karen. As of now, it's a piece of software that I built using Python, but I have plans to make it its own system like the Amazon echo. So if you want to see the final result, definitely stick around to see how that goes. I have plans to give it its own hardware, create an app for it so we can set it up, create a store to easily distribute and install add-ons, and more!
