Encouraging one another in the body of Christ is important. The Bible teaches us that we need to give and receive encouragement often. Encouragement is necessary for our walk of faith and helps us to persevere through difficult times. Let us learn this principle today.
Throughout my 23 years of ministry, I have observed that while all Christians are called to serve, only a few participate. This deviates from God's intention for every believer to utilize their God-given gifts in ministry, regardless of their role. Ephesians 4:7-16 emphasizes this calling, urging the Ephesian church to use their talents to glorify God. This passage, following the discussion of salvation and grace in chapters 1-3, highlights the importance of serving as a response to God's blessings. By utilizing an exegetical approach, I aim to convey to my audience the crucial nature of serving in ministry, emphasizing that it is not limited to pastors or gifted individuals but an integral part of every Christian's calling.
Why is it important that we join/participate in church ministry?

It's important to understand why Jesus died on the cross. Failure to understand that will result in our failure to believe in Him in order to be saved.

Our Confidence in God | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
Date: Oct 21, 2022
Text: Psalm 46:1-11
There are many things in this world that can terrify us. We feel so small and helpless in the face of so many overwhelming dangers. How can we live in this world with courage and confidence? Thankfully, we have our God who sustains and protects us. But we need to understand the basis of our confidence in God.

What is the basis of our confidence in God?
Three Realities that we believe by faith
1. God's abiding presence (vv.1-3, 7, 11)
2. God's amazing power (vv.4-6)
3. God's absolute purpose (vv.8-10)
Central Idea: “We are completely safe in this world because of who God is.” (“Lubos tayong ligtas sa mundong ito dahil sa kung sino ang Diyos.”)

Following and Suffering for Christ | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
20 Looking at his disciples, he said: “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. 21 Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh. 22 Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man. 23 “Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how their ancestors treated the prophets. 24 “But woe to you who are rich, for you have already received your comfort. 25 Woe to you who are well fed now, for you will go hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep. 26 Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you, for that is how their ancestors treated the false prophets. (Luke 6:20-26)
Some people think that becoming a Christian is a big mistake. They imagine a person doing so and losing a lot of things as a result. They cannot enjoy life anymore. They will be limited by a lot of rules and regulations, resulting in a life of unhappiness. But such is not the description of Jesus for those who choose to follow Him. Even though they will suffer, they will still be blessed. In other words, when we consider the consequences of such a decision, it is still better to follow and suffer for Christ than not to do so.

1 The king rejoices in your strength, Lord. How great is his joy in the victories you give! 2 You have granted him his heart’s desire and have not withheld the request of his lips. 3 You came to greet him with rich blessings and placed a crown of pure gold on his head. 4 He asked you for life, and you gave it to him—length of days, for ever and ever. 5 Through the victories you gave, his glory is great; you have bestowed on him splendor and majesty. 6 Surely you have granted him unending blessings and made him glad with the joy of your presence. 7 For the king trusts in the Lord; through the unfailing love of the Most High he will not be shaken. 8 Your hand will lay hold on all your enemies; your right hand will seize your foes. 9 When you appear for battle, you will burn them up as in a blazing furnace. The Lord will swallow them up in his wrath, and his fire will consume them. 10 You will destroy their descendants from the earth, their posterity from mankind. 11 Though they plot evil against you and devise wicked schemes, they cannot succeed. 12 You will make them turn their backs when you aim at them with drawn bow. 13 Be exalted in your strength, Lord; we will sing and praise your might. (Psalm 21:1-13)
The key to successful leadership is dependence on the Lord. Leaders are always faced with great challenges. They need to trust in the Lord and not in themselves in order to succeed. It's tempting to just rely on our own strengths, wisdom, or efforts to accomplish our goals. But without the Lord, leaders will not succeed.

Main Idea: “Leaders succeed when they trust in the Lord.” (“Nagtagumpay ang mga lider kapag nagtitiwala sila sa Panginoon.”)
How should leaders trust the Lord in order to succeed?
Four Ways
1. They must trust the Lord for their strength (vv.1,5.13).
2. They must trust the Lord for their desires (vv.2-4).
3. They must trust the Lord for their needs (vv.6-7).
4. They must trust the Lord for their challenges (vv.8-12).

1 Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge. 2 I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.” 3 I say of the holy people who are in the land, “They are the noble ones in whom is all my delight.” 4 Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more. I will not pour out libations of blood to such gods or take up their names on my lips. 5 Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure. 6 The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance. 7 I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me. 8 I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. 9 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, 10 because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay. 11 You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. (Psalm 16:1-11)
People try to find joy and happiness in the things of the world. But believers find their true delight in the Lord. However, because we are not trained to be thankful, a lot of believers feel that they too must find their joy and happiness in the world. They do not realize that everything we need for a life of joy and fulfillment is found in the Lord.

Main Idea: “Everything that we can delight in is found in God.” (“Lahat ng maaari natin ikagalak ay matatagpuan sa Diyos.”)
Where do we find our true delights?
In Five Areas
1. God's Person (vv.1-2)
2. God's People (vv.3-4).
3. God's Providence (vv.5-6).
4. God's Protection (vv.7-8).
5. God's Presence (vv.9-11)

1 The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good. 2 The Lord looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. 3 All have turned away, all have become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one. 4 Do all these evildoers know nothing? They devour my people as though eating bread; they never call on the Lord. 5 But there they are, overwhelmed with dread, for God is present in the company of the righteous. 6 You evildoers frustrate the plans of the poor, but the Lord is their refuge. 7 Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When the Lord restores his people, let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad! (Psalm 14:1-7)
Many today are longing for the approval of those around them. They strive to become successful. They want to accomplish things so that people will admire them. They accumulate worldly wealth so that they will feel secure. But whatever people think about us, what is important is how God thinks about us. Being successful is nothing if God labels us as fools.

What does a fool believe?
Three Things
1. He doesn't need God (v.1).

3. He doesn't fear God (vv.4-7).

When God Speaks | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. 2 Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. 3 They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. 4 Yet their voice[b] goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun. 5 It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. 6 It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is deprived of its warmth. 7 The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. 8 The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes. 9 The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The decrees of the Lord are firm, and all of them are righteous. 10 They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold;
they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb. 11 By them your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward. 12 But who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults. 13 Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me.
Then I will be blameless, innocent of great transgression. 14 May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.(Psalm 19:1-14)
Sometimes people feel frustrated because they can't hear God. They try so hard but it seems that God is silent. But is he? Often it is because we don't know how God speaks. God is always speaking to us but often we are unaware of it. So we go on our way without ever hearing God. We need to know how to listen to God by understanding how He communicates with us.
