Pier Admission Facilities Next to USNS Comfort - New York City
NEW YORK CITY (April 9, 2020) The Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Comfort (T-AH 20) admits patients on the pier next to the ship. Comfort cares for trauma, emergency, and urgent care patients without regard for their COVID-19 status. Comfort is working with the Javits New York Medical Station as an integrated system to relieve the New York City medical system, in support of the U.S. Northern Command’s Defense Support of Civil Authorities as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Video of Venezuela SU-30 Flanker as it “aggressively shadowed” a U.S. Navy EP-3 Aries II at an unsafe distance in international airspace over the Caribbean Sea July 19, jeopardizing the crew and aircraft. SAN DIEGO (June 10, 2020) – The guided-missile destroyer USS Kidd (DDG 100) departs San Diego following the Navy's aggressive response to a COVID-19 outbreak aboard the ship. Kidd arrived at Naval Base San Diego on April 28 to provide medical care for the crew and clean and disinfect the ship. Kidd is scheduled to return to the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility to continue its mission in support of SOUTHCOM Enhanced Counter-Narcotics Operations in the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific. The 'Griffins' of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 79 are deployed aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) Carrier Strike Group (CSG), currently deployed to the 5th fleet area of operations. Operating the MH-60R Seahawk, the 'Griffins' carry out various missions including anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, vertical replenishment, search and rescue, humanitarian relief and medical evacuation operations. A ballistic missile target, launched from the Pacific Missile Range Facility at Kauai, Hawaii during Flight Test Standard Missile-45 is acquired and intercepted by a SM-3 Block IIA guided missile, launched from the destroyer USS JOHN FINN (DDG-113).
