Downlights or recessed lights are available as fire rated or not, separate fire hoods can be obtained, and covers to provide suitable space over lights so that insulation can be installed above them.
Fire rated lights and fire hoods are designed to prevent a fire in the room passing through the light fitting into the space above.
Insulation guards or covers keep loft insulation away from light fittings to prevent them overheating.

Screws and screwdrivers, and the difference between Phillips and Pozidriv. Mixing the two will result in mangled screws and broken screwdrivers.
In the UK, most screws used in construction work are Pozidriv.

Cables with PVC insulation manufactured in the late 1960s and early 1970s may exhibit a problem where the plasticiser in the PVC insulation migrates out of the material, reacts with the copper and forms a green oily substance.
This is not dangerous, however the green colour will stain most materials, and in extreme cases it can appear at the holes of sockets or even run down the wall from sockets and switches.
Although the slime can be cleaned away easily, the only long term solution is to replace the cables.
Eventually, the cable insulation can become brittle and fracture, which will lead to faults occurring.
The socket shown here is a replacement which was fitted a few years ago, the cables are from 1970 when the property was constructed.

A steel junction box from 1958 which was typically used for lighting circuits, with a single cable to each point all joined at a central location.
This one was removed intact from an installation and still contains the original rubber insulated cables.
Made by Hartley Electromotives Limited, this example is a Type B and dated 19 March 1958.

A look inside an older Wylex Standard fusebox, as commonly fitted to older properties in the UK.
There are many of these still in use, and while not actually dangerous, they do not contain any RCD protection and should be replaced with a modern consumer unit.
It isn't worthwhile 'upgrading' them with plug in MCBs either, as described in this other video: http://youtu.be/VTXnSgpiCSw
