Cake Bash Leaving the Oven With Release Date Trailer
The endless battle for kitchen supremacy was bound to get out of hand eventually. The cupcake wars and great national bakeoffs were only the start, with the competition for greatest flavor eventually anthorporphizing into the food itself. While doughnuts and cupcakes are generally short of the necessary appendages it’s nothing a little stick-figure doodling can’t fix, and soon enough they can take to the counters and tabletops to compete for the best accessories to look the most delicious. It’s probably best not to think about how adorably suicidal the goal is.
Cake Bash is a mulitplayer multi-game competition in the vein of Mario Party, Crash Bash, and Fall Guys, where you need to get good at the various events and minigames to come out on top. Try to snag all the best toppings, or avoid a pigeon fly-over, or get the most fruit into a pie crust. Minigames supplement the bigger events, letting you toast the perfect marshmallow or be the most precise frosting decorator. Basically it’s a classic-styled party game with combat cakes, light and delicious and ready to throw down to prove it.
Cake Bash is coming out October 15 on PS4, Xbox One, Steam, and Stadia, with the Switch version trailing along behind later. There’s a super-cute trailer for the announcement, although if you want something a little more gameplay-oriented the one from last year will fill in the details nicely. Of course, no video can compare to direct hands-on experience, so the Steam demo is over here for anyone looking for an advanced taste of confectionery mayhem.
Untitled Goose Game is adding another horrible goose to its repertoire. Developer House House announced today that it will release a local two-player co-op mode as a free update on September 23rd.
The rules of Untitled Goose Game are simple: you, a cute and terrible goose, honk at innocent villagers, steal their things, and generally make life miserable. It’s a puzzle game built around inciting havoc, and with a friend, that job may be easier than ever. Co-op will be available on all platforms; additionally, the game is coming to Steam and Itch.
House House has also teamed up with iam8bit and Panic Inc to release physical copies of the formerly digital-only game, in addition to a vinyl version of its soundtrack. Both will be released on September 29th, with preorders open now.
Video Game Adaptation of George Orwell’s ‘Animal Farm’ Releasing This Fall
The video game adaptation to English author George Orwell’s acclaimed 1945 satirical novella, Animal Farm, releases this Fall. While it’s not the first time Orwell’s work has been adapted — having been made into radio dramas and even an animated film in the 1950’s — it’s the first time that Animal Farm has entered into the video game medium. Originally announced way back in September 2017, the game is made in conjunction between independant developers Nerial and The Dairymen — set to convert Orwell’s work into an adventure game format. Having players balance resources between the many animals present in the story. The game is set to also be narrated by Abubakar Salim, perhaps more recently known as the voice of Bayek in Assassin’s Creed: Origins.
Commemorating the 75th anniversary of its original publishing with today’s news, Animal Farm is often regarded — alongside Orwell’s 1949 dystopian novel, 1984 (or Nineteen Eighty-Four, as it is often written) — as one of the best and most important pieces of English-language literature of all time. Described by its author as a fable, the novella reflects the real-life 1917 Russian Revolution, of which eventually led to the rise of the authoritarian and dictatorial regime of the Soviet Union. Orwell’s Animal Farm is set to release across PC and mobile.
Borderlands 3’s final DLC is a mystery no more.
As promised, Gearbox has today officially unveiled Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck, the fourth campaign add-on for Boderlands 3. The DLC arrives September 10 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
Psycho Krieg explores what makes the game’s crazed psychos so ridiculously bloodthirsty. The story takes place inside the mind of famed psycho Krieg, as scientist Patricia Tannis believes they have been driven mad by the knowledge of a place called Vaulthalla.
The DLC’s unusual setting promises to be completely different from the game’s previous campaigns. You’ll explore the world of Krieg’s own psyche, experiencing the world as he sees it. As always, you’ll find many new items within Krieg’s mind that you can bring to the rest of the game, including legendary weapons and cosmetic items such as skins and heads.
On September 10, Borderlands 3 will also receive a free update, which increases the level cap to 65. Gearbox says this is the last boost to the level cap the game is getting, for now.
Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck is included in the season pass, and will also be available to purchase a la carte. If you’re looking to learn more, Gearbox is hosting a livestream today on its official Twitch channel, where you’ll be able to catch an interview with game director Maxime Babin at 1pm PT, 4pm ET, 9pm UK.
And, as a reminder, the Borderlands 3 anniversary celebration continues on, with its final event ending on the DLC’s release date.

Tencent released a tech demo this weekend from Syn, a potential cyberpunk game for consoles and PC. It is an open world first-person shooter. "Nothing in the demo is final. We tried to use the best possible real-time graphics in a cyberpunk world with an intriguing universe."
According to Tencent, future players can choose between three factions and even provide their own "cyberpunk pet". All three factions and the pets actually have their appearance. Adjusting the appearance plays an important role in the tech demo.
There are no more details about Syn yet. It appears that Tencent wants to make Syn a full game, although it is not clear when the game should appear.
