Shiroi Koibito Park and Ishiya Chocolate Factory Sapporo - Spring Rapid Tour
Hey everyone, it’s Matt from Still as Life, and I’m super excited to share this amazing place with you! In all honesty, it is my absolute favourite place in Sapporo on Japan’s northern island of Hokkaido.
We went here in mid-August, right at the start of Spring and as I saw the building, entered the park and began to explore the wacky world within, it struck me. If Charlie and the Chocolate Factory were real, this is the closest experience to it that I’ve ever encountered. Everything here is fun. It has been designed to entertain, educate, inspire, and bring out the inner child in everyone.

I'm always interested in how tech can save money while being cleaner and more efficient, so when it came time to get a line trimmer / whipper snipper, we decided to give the Ryobi One+ 18v Lime Trimmer a try.
You can but it as just a skin with no battery if you already have the One+ 18v batteries, or you can but it as a 1.5ah battery kit or a 5.0ah battery kit. We got the 5.0ah battery kit since that is the highest capacity battery, and after using it, I wouldn't recommend the 1.5ah kit unless you only have a very, very small area to maintain..

Alright fellow travellers, who else has found the information about where Royal Caribbean's Radiance of the Seas docks in Wellington New Zealand to be a tad confusing? I'd heard reports of being able to walk off the ship. I'd heard reports of a shuttle that you had to pay for, and I'd heard reports of a free shuttle. Here's what actually happens!
I'm sorry about the loudspeaker in the background, unfortunately, every time we waited until Captain Trym finished his announcements, and just as we started, he would have some more to say. Mystery Island is a beautiful tropical island at the Southern end of Vanuatu. No one lives on it, though many travel across on days when cruise ships visit. You can find some beautiful photo spots, and the water is a beautiful blue, but like any tropical island, the weather is prone to rapid change. In one day we had sun, dark clouds and heavy wind, rain, and pouring rain, back to overcast, and then sunny again. It's hard to really be prepared for it, but probably best to ensure that anything you take off the ship with you is ok to get wet!

napier-to-gisborne-via-shine-falls-mahia
Day 10 of our 42-day trip around the North Island of New Zealand saw us leave Napier after a good break there and head to Gisborne via Lake Tutira, Shine Falls, and the Mahia Peninsula. We followed the Hawkes Bay coastline as much as possible, and for the entire trip, the Mahia Peninsula was shrouded in clouds making it very mysterious, perhaps apt given the Rocket Lab launch facility there. This stretch of coast is full of beautiful beaches, but they are predominately black sand or gravel. Along the way, we also stopped in at:

-Waipatiki Beach
-Lake Tutira
-Shine Falls
-Wairoa
-Mahia Beach
-Gisborne
In Napier, we were staying at the Nautilus, a beautiful hotel. Gisborne was a challenge to find any accommodation though. We never found out why everything was booked out, but ultimately, we settled on an Airbnb, a luxury caravan! It was a new experience for us as it was the first time we've stayed in a fully self-contained caravan, but it was pretty cool. If you can handle the chemical toilet and cosy bed and shower, it's a great place to stay!
For dinner, we decided to give Burger Wisconsin's two vegetarian burger options a try and really enjoyed them. Well worth a try!
