After Donald Trump had a complete meltdown about the potential indictments that may be coming from the Manhattan District Attorney's office, he decided after that to take a a little bit softer approach. You know, he had attacked not just DA Alvin Bragg, but also Leticia James and Fanny Willis, calling them all racist, attacking Stormy Daniel's appearance. He went after Michael Cohen's credibility. And then after he calmed down a bit on the weekend, he, he sent out this message on social media. I relied on counsel in order to resolve this extortion of me, which took place a long time ago. Additionally, the statute of limitations has long since ended. And in fact, the radical left media one and a half years ago did a countdown on the statute of limitations, which was allowed to expire certainly a much different tone than calling everybody Investigating You a racist, which I believe is a pretty good evidence that his lawyers came up to him and said, Hey, maybe tone it down a bit and stop attacking the people who control your fate.
So he came out with this calm, metered response of, well, folks, it, it would appear that the statute of limitations has in fact passed and therefore the DA can do nothing about this ongoing investigation into the hush money payment, into Stormy Daniels, except legal experts have already pointed out that that didn't happen because a little thing called covid happened within that statute of limitation period, which was about five years. And if the crimes happened in 2016, statute of limita, uh, limitations would've expired in 2021. But because of Covid, all statute of limitations on criminal investigations were actually extended because prosecutors did not have enough time and or resources to be able to fully conduct investigations while we were at the height of the pandemic. So contrary to what Donald Trump put out on social media, no, the statute of limitations has not in fact expired. A fact that his lawyers would also know.
But the reason Trump, of course, is putting this out there anyway, is to try to make it seem like any indictments against him that may or may not come would be illegitimate. Now, I'm of the opinion that don't hold your breath on any criminal indictments. And even if we do get criminal indictments, please understand that it's most likely gonna be misdemeanor charges. We're not looking at hardcore felony charges against Trump with the Stormy Daniels Hus money payment, because in order for Bragg to find a reason to charge him for felony offenses, he would have to prove that the coverup of the Stormy Daniel payment was used in furtherance of a second crime.
So he has to prove two criminal things happened in order to hit him with a felony. And as we've, uh, basically what we know, he's not doing that. So even if we get indictments, it's only gonna be a misdemeanor. Trump's not gonna go to jail, most likely. Still a pleasant thought to think he might be hit with a, at least a misdemeanor charge, something, right? You know, it's about time this guy gets popped for something that he has done instead of getting away with every dang thing imaginable. But the statute of limitations is not going to save him on this.

This has been an exceptionally bad week for Donald Trump. We're heading into the weekend now. He is going to spend the whole weekend posting some of the most deranged crap you have ever seen in your life. All over truth, social. He'll do interviews. I don't know if he's got any speeches or rallies planned, but if he does buckle up because he is gonna go completely off the rails and the judge has to stop it immediately, someone is going to get hurt. According to testimony given to the January 6th committee by former, uh, white House Communications director, Alyssa Farra Griffin. Matt Gates came into the Oval Office one day with a folder that, uh, Griffin described as filled with conspiracy theories about Ms. N b host and of course, former Congressman Joe Scarborough. The day after Donald Trump received that folder of conspiracy theories that Matt Gates gave to him, Trump started tweeting out the conspiracy theories from 20 years ago about Scarborough. So I'm gonna read you word for word what Ms. Farrah Griffin told to the January 6th committee. I'm waiting outside of the outer oval with Gates and Jordan, and Jim and I are just shooting, shooting the crap. Uh, he was an old boss of mine and Gates has this folder, and I said, you know, what is that? She then said, the folder contained conspiracy theories about Joe Scarborough murdering his intern. She continued, and I said, please do not bring that into the West Wing or to the Oval Office. We were literally outside of the outer oval. And just as I'm saying that, I said, you cannot put that in front of the President. He, he gets ushered in. And sure enough, within by the next morning, the former president's tweeting wild conspiracy theories about a cable news host, you know, allegedly murdering his intern.
Now, the initial story, um, about the woman who passed away in the office of Joe Scarborough when he was serving, uh, in the capacity that Matt Gates now serves as the representative for Florida's first congressional district, a woman who was not an intern, she was an aide, was working at his Fort Walton Beach office. She fainted on her way falling to the ground, she hit her head on the desk, and that killed her. It was later revealed that she had an undiagnosed heart condition. That is what led to the fainting, which led to the head heading, which led to her unfortunate death at the time that this happened. By the way, Joe Scarborough was nearly a thousand miles away in Washington, DC so he, he didn't kill her because he definitely wasn't there like that much is pretty obvious. And that happened in 2001 before he worked for msnbc.
It's when he was the congressman, and there had been investigations, as I mentioned, there had been the autopsy. That's where they discovered the heart condition. Joe Scarborough was never charged. He was never even, you know, implicated. He was never really investigated as possibly murdering this woman because that's not what happened. But Matt Gates knew that Joe Scarborough was going hard against Donald Trump, and he wanted to give Donald Trump a little bit of, a little bit of ammo to take down this uppity Ms. N B C host who was attacking him. And so this is what he did. And Donald Trump came out the next day as Farrah Griffin mentioned, in a multi tweet thread,
Constantly suggesting Joe Scarborough murdered somebody. Now, here's the thing, I am no fan of Joe Scarborough, either as a member of Congress or as a host on msnbc. Let's not forget that Joe Scarborough, after Trump had won the 2016 election, but before he was sworn in, was down at Mar-a-Lago on New Year's Eve partying with him, okay? They used to be friends, so, you know, take whatever.

Dozens of child laborers were found working in, in a metal plant in the state of Alabama. Well, it's 50. I mean, you know, at least 50 and if it's, if they found 50, there's probably 300. This is such a victory for the US Chamber of Commerce, isn't it? Don't you see them high fiving, drinking champagne, by God, we're bringing in all of these child labors from Guatemala, Nicaragua, Mexico. They're coming over the border in droves. If they lose an arm, no problem. We're gonna ship 'em back to Guatemala. If they lose their life, we'll ship the body back. There's no worker's compensation for these people. There's no social security for these people. All of them are working minimum wage. But this on top of that, it's child labor. It is child slavery that's taken place. You know, I, I happen to come across it on a message board, somebody posted it there, but beyond that, it hasn't been covered as far as I've known on any cable news outlet. What the, the better life comes for the CEOs of corporations who do this, who say, yeah, we're gonna, we're gonna get away with as much as we can. The better life is for the US Chamber of Commerce. Why doesn't the media talk about the truth? This ain't about compassion. It's about cheap labor. We used to have to ship, what we've had to do in the past is ship jobs overseas, right? For ship, for cheap labor. Not anymore. Now we're shipping, we're, we're shipping the cheap labor into the country and nobody seems to put this together. And we, we handle these cases. We see it all the time worker comes in, they're blinded by some chemical. Ship 'em back home. They don't have any rights.
Well, and, and what's really telling about this story too, is, you know, these children are working in this metal stamping facility. So it, it's not even a safe job to begin with.
Mm-hmm.
And these are parts that go to the local Hyundai plant right outside of Montgomery, Alabama. And Hyundai, of course, that's a huge advertiser. It's a huge advertiser in print media. Huge advertiser in, you know, linear media. So of course we can't talk about Hyundai using a plant with child labor in Alabama. And so it is just failures across the board. But as you said, it's exactly what the Chamber of Commerce wants. This is why we never see real movement on the immigration issue, no matter who's in charge, because the corporations are really in charge and this is what they want across the country.

Recently, the Rand corporation released a startling new study showing that roughly one third of American citizens get their news from sources that even they consider to be unreliable, but they still turn to those news sources anyway, and those news sources, according to this new uh study happened to be social media and what their peers tell them. That's it. A third of America getting news from either Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, maybe, I don't know, and they're friends and they know that they can't believe those stories, that they're unreliable, but they go to it anyway because, Hey, we're lazy. Now here's the problem with this. The problem is not just that there is so much fake news out there. The problem is not that there is so much misinformation. The problem is that now we have one third of this country out there saying, yeah, I rely on fake news, and you know what? I don't have a problem with it. I know it's fake, but I'm still going to believe it. No folks, that is a problem with this country. That is a problem with society. That is a problem of intelligence, of a lack of education, but more importantly a lack of effort on behalf of the American public. It doesn't take very much. I mean, if you're already on Twitter or on Facebook, then you clearly have access to the internet. You can go out there and find plenty of news sources that are reliable, that are credible, that do fact checking, that are not hidden behind a pay wall, but at least a third of this country refuses to do that. And this presents a massive problem for us as an electorate going forward. How do we counter that? How do we convince 33% of Americans that they need to abandon this fake news when they've already admitted, they know it's fake and they like it anyway. You can't reach people like that and it's a third of this country. We have very real problems in this country. And yes, fake news, misinformation is absolutely one of them. But when we're out there pushing for policies like Medicare for all or a green new deal, and then you run into somebody who says, Oh yeah, I read, you know, they said the green new deal going to outlaw cow farts and airplanes. And that's literally something right wing media has said, it's not true. You could show him the green new deal. You could read it word for word to them. You could show them all the fact checks debunking these lies, but they still won't believe it. And unfortunately, this is one of those times where I'm at a loss. I don't know what to do. We're doing everything we can. The rest of the progressive media is doing everything they can to counter all of this constant misinformation. But when you have a third of this country who says, you know what, I like the misinformation. Those people are absolutely unreachable. And we have to find a better way to educate the two thirds who understand that fake news is just that.

Over the weekend, Republican presidential candidate at Vivek Rema Swami outlined his plan to help streamline the federal government if of course he ever somehow makes his way into the White House. And his plan is so extensive that he was able to tell the public in just a series of like two tweets on Twitter, which of course is now called X, but I'm never going to call it that. So he put out two tweets outlining his brilliant plan to fire half of the current people working for the federal government. I will read you this insanely stupid plan on day one, instantly fire 50% of federal bureaucrats. Here's how if your social security number ends in an odd number, you're fired. This avoids civil service protections. No bureaucrat can claim their firings were politically motivated. Uh, further firings can be executed with a chisel, but step one needs to be an unrestrained chainsaw or else it won't happen.
So if you're looking at social security number and it ends in an odd number, and you currently work for the federal government, you know exactly who not to vote for. I'm assuming this is the dumbest thing I've ever heard from any Republican presidential candidate so far, like jaw droppingly, stupid by a jaw droppingly stupid person. A smart person would not say something like this. I'm sorry. They simply would not. This man is an idiot. And apparently in the Republican Party, it doesn't matter if you're, you know, uh, just a complete total moron, or if you're actually a scholar, we accept them. All right? Let's put the dumb up on stage and let him say the dumbest things that the country's ever heard Republicans hate the government, right? And, and that's why honestly, I I, I say that people who vote Republican are stupid.
And you may take offense to that. I, I don't care. But you're voting for people who are telling you, put me in a job that I'm telling you this job sucks. The company I work for sucks. Everything sucks. I want to destroy it all. So, hey, give me this job so I can destroy it. Why? Like, what company in this country would ever hire somebody like that? They wouldn't. So the fact that anybody can vote for a government hating Republican to run the government is beyond me. It's like the dumbest thing I can imagine. But that's where we are now. Ramus Swami has not actually explained, as far as I've seen, why we need to fire half of the people currently working for the federal government. He says, you know, we're not gonna lose any productivity. That's a lie. Again, go to any company on this planet. Fire half the
People, immediately tell 'em, get your stuff. Get out the door, and you suddenly watch. I guarantee you, no matter what, they're not going to be productive. Now, if you did it strategically, if you think there is waste, fraud, abuse, or bloat in these government payrolls, you can get rid of people. But you don't do it blindly. You don't do it essentially based on a lottery system. 'cause you may, you know, statistically, everybody you pick based on their social security number, you may be getting rid of all of the competent people and leaving nothing but a bunch of buffoons to run the federal government. That's not a smart idea. That is a very dumb idea from a very dumb person.
