?️ Can A Flat Back Cause Low Back Pain? 5 Ways To Support Your Lordosis
For reasons that we’ll get into here, the flattening of the low back to eliminate the normal natural lordosis we should all have is a factor that seems to be associated with back pain that is persistent. When we take a look at modern life and the numerous ways this pathological derangement from normal structure is baked into our daily lives, it is easy to see why back pain is such a drain on society.
From practitioners and specialists who seem to poorly understand this phenomenon, to the lives many of us have to lead on a daily basis, this week we’ll explore the lower back, the cause of this flattening, how it affects your lower back health as well as how we can go about restoring a degree of normal lordosis. Towards the end we’ll also touch on 5 exercises and stretches you could consider adding into your daily practice to make sure you avoid this issue of a reduced lumbar lordosis, or “flat low back” reducing your lower back health for the long term.

Challenging Core Exercise | How To Perform A Marching Bridge
If you're looking for a challenging core exercise, especially an exercise to build core strength - our practitioner Joe goes through how to perform a marching bridge. This exercise challenges the core, and is a great core exercise with no equipment needed. Click the link below to find out more about our back pain treatment:

So marching bridges are a great non-loadbearing exercise for the spine, because you're challenging the core stability when you're bringing one leg up at a time because there's a little bit of a twisting motion in the spine. So engaging the core nice and tight will help to reduce that twist and support the spine during the exercise. Also, when you're lifting one leg at a time, you'll feel the activation with the hamstrings and the glutes, which in turn supports the pelvis which is connected to the spine. So supporting all those structures is a good thing for for the back and for the core. Just make sure when you're lifting the hips up, don't push them up too much. Because a little bit of pinching in there might cause some discomfort whilst you're doing the exercise and engaging the core will kind of prevent you from pushing up too much. So make sure you do squeeze that core nice and tight. A little bit of shaking in the legs or in the core is normal, just because it's quite difficult to do when you're first starting out.

Our society's health is not in the best shape, with obesity on the rise and long waiting lists on the NHS. One of the key factors that can help alleviate back pain is improving your cardiovascular health and muscle strength.
During this podcast we discuss why it's so important to be strong, move correctly, and address root cause of back pain instead of just numbing the problem area, with let’s say a spinal injection.

We are asked a lot in the clinic about the difference between X-rays and MRIs. Many people presume MRIs are superior forms of imaging, but in fact we actually learn more new information from X-rays than we do from MRI imaging.

In this video today I'm going to talk about the Hypervolt by Hyperice - and as a little disclaimer, first and foremost, we don't get paid to sell these. It's just something that we really, really like in the clinic, we use one of their suped-up versions which is fantastic, and patients love it. And we've had more and more patients asking if they can have something similar at home. And we've done a little bit of digging around, we've used a number of other devices as well, personally, we've found their sort-of portable, more geared towards home-use version in the hypervolt.
In this video, I'm going to talk a little bit about that from sort of an unbiased point of view, yes, we use it. But we want to give you a sort of unfiltered opinion on it. So first and foremost, the bad things, it's not as powerful as the unit that we have here. But it's about one 10th of the price. So that's a big trade off there. Who is it for? So a lot of the time, people are doing things like foam rolling, stretching, massage, etc. and these can all be really time consuming. A lot of the challenges patients have to doing their own stretching after workouts when we give them rehab here in the clinic - is that they just don't have the time. And the great thing about these is you can get some good work done into muscle straight after a workout in a very, very time efficient manner. So there's no real barrier to doing it. Plus, it feels really nice. And it's not too difficult. Unlike things like foam rolling. If you've ever had foam roll your thighs after training your legs, it's basically an upper body workout, you end up feeling more tired and sweaty than you did before you started. So massive benefit here to just go straight along the legs nice and easy while you're sat down or laid down. And you get the whole thing done in around about three to five minutes each leg. S
