Kiven Yantra - Shifting Reality [Crossfade Sounds]
The most recent release on Crossfade Sounds welcomes Kiven Yantra back to the label with his 3rd EP, "Shifting Reality." This time around, his music has been skillfully remixed by producers such as Baigø, Denis Pylaev, G-Day, and Moodeep.
Kiven creates music that serves as a companion on people's spiritual journeys, aiding them in delving deeper into themselves and connecting with their higher selves, or simply providing an enjoyable and fun experience. Kiven Yantra's style spans from knee-deep house music to groovy tech house elements and minimal deep tech, all infused with an astral and atmospheric sound.
Madloch's Sound Avenue opens the month of March by unveiling the second remix edition for about : river's critically acclaimed '24 Years' album. Released in October of 2022, the Estonia duo's debut long player was received amidst much praise. The twelve-track opus proved to be a crowning achievement for about : river, a father and son production team who had built their reputation on borderless creations that were not only club-effective, but never failed to tell a compelling story. Now approaching a three-year creative partnership with Sound Avenue, about : river has continued to further their bond with the label across the last calendar year, remixing Jean Caillou's 'There' and Madloch & Subnode's 'Club Del Ocio'; the latter of which was an ode to the uniquely designed Argentinean club. Rounding out the year was the first installment of remixes for ‘24 Years’, a release which would see Rockka, Dunadry and Mars Monero provide their own renditions of ‘Never Forget’, ‘Frozen’ and ‘Dropped’ respectively. Now, continuing the album’s reimagination process, Sound Avenue invites Kebin Van Reeken, Pedro Sanmartin, Gaspar Aguilera & Manu Pavez and Darper to reshape selections of their choice in their own unique essence.

Madloch’s Sound Avenue imprint welcomes Jean Caillou back to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Zurich, the Swiss artist has established himself in the world of organic house with releases on Magician On Duty, RYNTH, Sag and Tre and Underyourskin Records. Having made his Sound Avenue debut in 2019 with a remix of Joe Miller’s ‘The Last Of The Great Days’, Jean further established a bond with the label in 2020, reworking Bigasti & Balad’s ‘The Days’. Now returning to Sound Avenue for his first original project, Jean presents his ‘Departure Unknown’ EP, alongside a remix from Daniel Van Der Zwaag.
Spread across four tracks, Jean Caillou’s ‘Deeparture Unknown’ is an eclectic blend of electronica, organic and melodic house. Emotionally compelling throughout, the journey begins with the dulcet beats and dusty percussion of 'There'. It's romantic overtones and intriguing vocal stylings make for an irresistible first act, before emerging atmospheres blanket the proceedings for a chilling finale.
The lone interpretation of ‘There’ is provided by Daniel Van Der Zwaag who makes his label debut. With the backing of Nick Warren and releases via Balance Music, Nie Wieder Schlafen and The Soundgarden, the Dutch artist has quickly become a sought-after name for all things deep and organic. Beginning his 2021 journey in style Daniel now makes his first appearance on Sound Avenue with a stunning rendition of ‘There’. It's a journey played out over eleven magical minutes, as the Dutch artist works mesmerizing lines and intriguing vocal fragments over deep chugging grooves, resulting in a heady dance floor bomb. A three-minute centrepiece sits at the core of the composition, free flowing through a maze of hazy refrains, before opening up into a radiant glow as the beats drop for a groovy final movement.
The glacial flow continues with the amorous sounds of the title selection 'Deeparture Unknown’'. Possessing an alluring undercurrent, it’s punchy kicks and wavy synth phrasing creates a warm energetic glow. Emotive chord changes add further to that narrative as sheets of percussion and indistinct vocal fragments push forward to a vibrant apex. The mezmerizing 'Palau' further cements Jean's elusive vision, as a rippling rhythmic core gets complimented with mallet-like motifs and shuddering bass tones. Sympathetic in mood, it’s slow burning drawl might be its strongest suit, tactfully building to a charismatic crescendo as gleaming electronics accent the road home. Diversifying the release further, it is Caillou's masterstroke to round the collection out with the impassioned, slo-mo grooves of 'Weather Lights'. Highlighting the seven-minute excursion is an amalgamation of clustered chimes, hopeful soundscapes and senso

Continuing their ascent through the organic house underground, Mariner + Domingo return to Madloch’s Sound Avenue with a new three track showcase. The Belgian imprint has become somewhat of a home base for the talented American duo. A cross section of Mariner + Domingo’s most beloved tracks have come courtesy of the long-standing imprint, most notably ‘Le’ Carnival’, ‘Edenwilde’ and ‘Another Life’, the latter of which earned play, support and a Beatport chart feature from world class DJ and All Day I Dream boss Lee Burridge. Now as the world looks towards a period of rejuvenation, with dancefloors taking on new levels of satisfaction after an extended silence, Mariner + Domingo charm us once again with three stunning tracks across their latest Sound Avenue vehicle ‘Inertia’.
Already a favourite of organic house trendsetter Tim Green, it is the esoteric sounds of the title selection which lead the release off. Mariner + Domingo continue to perfect their craft here, with an amalgamation of carnival inspired motifs blanketing a rich, well contoured groove and flurries of exotic percussion. Void of any traditional musicality, it’s mystical charm might be its strongest suit. Coming to an emotional peak during the interlude, the Florida residents marry indistinct vocals with breezy effects, hopeful pads and harmonic swells for an understated yet poignant peak.
Going deeper still are the charming sounds of selection two ‘I Still Remember’. Set in motion by a lush, DJ friendly intro, Mariner + Domingo open emotional centres further with fragmented vocals and Mediterranean musicality. A thumping foundation sets the pace going forward, delighting hearts and minds with its utopian flavour, as wistful melodies ebb and flow with the main break drawing closer. Colourful pads and processed pianos rise in unison across the interlude, offering a romantic lean and conjuring up transcendent imagery for all the deep dreamers out there. Essential eyes closed material for your living room or dance floor.
Rounding out the release are the lush qualities of ‘How Am I Supposed To Feel’. Thoughtful vocal phrasing and organic percussion sit perfectly over punchy beats and pulsating bass tones. The duo’s drifting harmonics are beautifully interwoven, creating a vivid soundscape and magical transition into a second act of broken beats and vibrant percussion. A unique and impactful transition which ultimately spearheads further vocal edits and a delicate piano infused outro. It caps off another sensational audio travelogue from Mariner + Domingo, a fast-rising duo who always seem to put their best foot for

Continuing a strong summer season, Madloch’s Sound Avenue imprint presents new interpretations of Nopi’s ‘Flatter’. Originally released in October of 2020 as part of the Ukrainian’s well received ‘Where to Go’ EP, the creation rounded out the collection on the strength of Sarah Chilanti’s dreamy vocals and a delicate piano top line. Now bringing new life to the much loved track, Sound Avenue invites Dmitry Molosh, about:river and GastoM to provide their own interpretations for the summer season.
The first interpretation is provided by Dmitry Molosh who returns to the label for his fifth appearance. The Belarus based producer sits firmly in progressive music’s elite class of artists, showcasing his work via Cid Inc’s Replug Records, Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music, Nick Warren’s Hope Recordings and Guy Mantzur’s Plattenbank Records. As a mainstay in Beatport’s sales charts, Dmitry now makes a welcome return to Sound Avenue with a powerful rendition of ‘Flatter’. Beginning with warm beats and effervescent percussion, it’s the pulsating nature of the groove which becomes instantly compelling. Driving, chunky and full of great character, it anchors what is a cosmic slice of progressive house. Emerging melodies marry luminous tones across the first act, before a break of clustered arps and colourful tonal tension spearheads an electric drop and epic finale.
Making their label debut and providing the second interpretation of ‘Flatter’ is about:river. The Ukrainian duo is a unique collaborative project between father and son. Their productions tell a dynamic and sometimes epic story that happens to be set in a dance-groove environment. Conceptualized by father Oleg in 2018, the following year saw his 12 year old son Ervin join the project. Initially a clarinet and keyboard player, Ervin quickly became a committed member of the project, contributing not only to live performances but also in the creative process, writing the main themes of their musical creations. Now with releases via Proton’s Particles and Nie Wieder Schlafen, about:river makes their Sound Avenue debut with a gorgeous take on ‘Flatter’. From a deeper vision, the duo draws on the sensibilities of the original, utilizing Sarah’s emotive vocals over a bed of organic breakbeats, exotic percussion and creamy pianos. Placid pads and whimsical arps emerge across the seven-minute excursion, setting the scene for a heartfelt conclusion.
Also making his label debut and providing the final interpretation of ‘Flatter’ is GastoM. Born in Mendoza and now based in Buenos Aires, the Argentinean artist fuses elements of organic and progressive house, along with live recording
