I have 100% respect for Gaga's original lyrics about sexuality, but I wanted to give shout-outs to the 40+ countries who took the time to send in pictures/videos. Maybe I'm ignorant for not realizing the profound meaning those few words have to a select amount of people, but I saw it as a chance to expand on who the song represents, and not narrow it. We are one world, gay, straight, bi, and trans-gendered, and when I heard the lyrics, it made me picture people from different countries representing their origins. So, yes, my version is more geared towards race/origin, rather than sexuality. I did feel like the lyrics she used "chola, and orient" were offensive to a lot of people so I changed those, also.
