Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark - Case 3 Druid's Delight
Heading to Ireland to investigate Dooley's family, we stumble upon another mystery as the light vanishes from the very skies. Luckily, with some quick thinking and diving into folklore, we come up with a plan.
I may have missed one of the larger achievements in this part. Since I restarted the video and sped through parts, I don't know if some of the stuff I did originally still counts or not. We'll find out soon. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-U-9ZRJgvU
After our daring rescue in the previous part, we are finally able to move into the final day. With our reward from said rescue, we need to kill some time until the night, and there are some quests, but first we need to find out what is going on with the citizens. Some of the tourists have already bailed to try to beat traffic, but a good number of them still linger. Digging through the remnants, we can find some important things, such as a recipe, so make sure not to miss something as pivotal as that thinking that this day will be easier than others on account of it being the last one.

It is short and with just a single character, but we get to address some of the rumors from OOPARTS back in NG. This sends us on a small tour around the city and in the end, Mary gets to make a cameo and the events of NG are set into motion.

After spending some time wandering around Tokyo last week, we are starting to learn about the Dark, and can now confront it. Hopefully we can come back from it in a relatively small number of pieces...

Giving this another go. Last time I tried it, the servers went down, so here's hoping we have a little better luck. If not, then I'll swap over to one of the other contenders for weekly updates. As for the details about the game, we'll explain as we go. Just keep in mind the game is in alpha, so don't expect the finer details to be added just yet.

Welcome to the section of the game that has made the majority of players rage quit. Sadly, even if you put the game on the lowest difficulty setting, it does nothing to remedy how tedious this part is.
The annoying part here is the foreknowledge that is required to do this as optimally as I show here. You need to know that Sola is in the bottom right corner, otherwise you risk running into death traps and having to restart. With the large number of mechs to move around, this very quickly becomes the most time consuming segment of the game. It can become a little longer if you want to claim all the loot, but it is your call if you want to bother at all.
I am making this its own video and working on getting the next part out as a separate video due to the fact that I know people are going to have a problem with this. As I said in the video, I do not want to bother with having to do this again, and it is my biggest road block to coming back to do NG+ for the secret ending. This was really poorly executed, and I am hoping it either gets massive revamps or eliminated entirely from future games. I have my fingers crossed that they take Phoenix and Paladin out of this in a future patch so you only have to deal with the necessary units.

You may learn a thing or two about centrifuges here when you see Vladimir bite the bullet, or in this case the poisoned vial. Afterward, we start bonding with Kimiko, which leads to what you see in the thumbnail here. Everything is falling into place for the final game, which goes just about how you would expect it to go. Except Dai may want to bend a rule or two...

The quest to get Phoenix promoted continues, this time with a small twist. We are working on his Scout, but his Gunner is also close to 25, so in doing this, we push him toward the first promotion and get him in position to do his second. Sadly, that will have to wait for another weekend.

And here is the final battle, as you may have guessed from the special thumbnail. I will be going back to the old art for the other routes, but it may take me a day or two to resume. The main criteria for this route is that Chris survived the 17th map, but Lance did not on the 11th map.
As for the endings, the best epilogues come from 100 kills with less than 3 deaths per character, which simply can't happen here since I didn't really try to grind. As a result, I think you get the 2nd best ending for the majority of them.
Ultimately, this is supposed to be the canon ending as it leads to the pairing (Chris and Ledin) that gives rise to the protagonists in the other games. I think a few generations pass between the first and second games, so the next MC will be another prince, but not necessarily the son of these two. We will see when we get there I suppose.

Here is where things may get a little confusing as I am releasing a double part 17 where we romance the two available women. This is the Shizuka side, which we will follow through first, but I figured the Kimiko fans may not want to wait, so here we are. The good news is that the women decide to break the mold compared to what we have seen so far, but you'll have to wait until tomorrow to see what I mean...
