Feed your rose plants generously with a balanced fertilizer to support repeat blooming all season long. In the ground, I prefer a base of organic fertilizer sources and amendments to improve the soil. I'll discuss conventional (chemical) fertilizers as well, and the reason some gardeners add additional phosphorus sources to their feeding program. For roses in containers, I prefer a controlled release (coated) fertilizer.

We're preparing the farm to take more visitors, and this video is an update of our design. We've changed our plans to focus our efforts better on the business: more retail space and more focus on garden areas that will inspire sales. We've also incorporated many of the viewer suggestions offered in response to our previous tour video: https://youtu.be/goJt79jW09s

In this video, I compare man-made potting mix vs. garden soil soil, especially focused on the benefits to plant propagation and production.

I'm always happy to have a look at new technology, and goodness knows we have enough lawn to give this a try. This is a Robot Lawnmower at the Kickstarter stage - and instead of using boundary wires, it maps the area by satellite and plans a full mowing pattern, resulting in more straight lines and less time "wandering". I hope you find this look at the product interesting!
the KOWOLL company will re-launched the KOLMOWER M28E on Kickstarter. To ensure you stay informed about their latest news and updates, follow them on social media and join their Facebook group. They are also working on other new smart lawn- mowing products, so please be patient, as it won't be long before they return with these items.

KOWOLL Introduces New Kolmower M28E Robotic Lawn Mower, World's First Lawn Mowing Robot with 3D Lidar Slam
KOWOLL, a leading pioneer in robotic lawnmower technology, has just announced the release of the Kolmower M28E. This robotic lawnmower is the first in the world to use 3D LiDAR SLAM technology.
3D LiDAR SLAM stands for 3-dimensional Light Detection and Ranging Simultaneous Localization and Mapping. This technology allows the Kolmower M28E to create a detailed map of your lawn, which it uses to navigate and mow efficiently.
The Kolmower M28E is also equipped with some other features that make it a top-of-the-line robotic lawnmower, including:
A powerful motor that can mow up to 4,000 square meters of lawn in 24 hours.
A weatherproof design that can withstand even the most extreme weather conditions
A theft alarm that will alert you if the mower is moved
A user-friendly app that allows you to control the mower from your smartphone
The KOWOLL Kolmower M28E is the perfect choice for homeowners who are looking for a reliable, easy-to-use, and high-performance robotic lawnmower.

If you're enjoying the challenges of plant propagation, it can feel limiting when the landscape begins to fall into dormancy. What I'm enjoying these days is the fact that not every plant reacts equally to cold. This lets me continue to push the envelop of bringing hardy plant material, like roses, inside to controlled temperatures as cuttings. In this video I'll demonstrate with roses, rosemary, and also demonstrate with a few more tender indoor varieties I have on the go.

I find that most LED lamps are marketed for a pretty *ahem* specific kind of growing. In this video, I want to take a more general approach. I'll show you the Groplanner O Series 200w bundle, which I think is a highly adaptable lamp for all kinds of growing. I'll definitely be using it for my seedling starting in spring, but in the meantime I can use it for overwintering young plants (cuttings from this season's propagation) and light-hungry indoor plants as the natural light diminishes. I mentioned some coupon codes, and here they are with links to the respective online stores:

Four major plant families contain plants so useful in supporting beneficial insects, I've decided to highlight them in this video.
From the thumbnail:
1) The carrot family (Astrantia pictured) 3:20 in the video
2) The mint family (Agastache pictured) 9:31 in the video
3) The mustard family (Erysimum pictured) 5:21 in the video
4) The sunflower (or daisy) family (Calendula pictured) 7:35 in the video
I made this video as a companion piece to the interview I has on the Rosechat Podcast: https://rosechat.podbean.com/ They're a great resource for the rose community, and well worth checking out.
Planting diverse flowering plants from across these four families (and indeed you could include a much wider diversity in this list) will help to stabilize predator and pest populations on around your garden. It doesn't mean you'll be pest free, but it might mean (as it has for me) that you won't have to spray the "hard stuff" as much or at all.

This is a quick tour of the Centennial Rose Garden at Poirier Park in Coquitlam. Believe it or not, there's another "Centennial Rose Garden" only 10km away on Burnaby Mountain. Go figure. I'll also discuss why I prefer interplanting and underplanting with other plants besides roses. I was there today selling roses at the annual rose show of the Fraser Pacific Rose Society, which also volunteers to maintain these gardens.

Some formal rose gardens strip all the lower leaves from their roses, leaving a "Dr. Seuss" top heavy, "bare knees" look that has become fairly distinctive to the hobby. But is it necessary? In this quick video, I'll discuss the benefits of the removal of lower/inner leaves.

Here's an update to show you how the cuttings have developed callus, the first step towards rooting. My average temperatures were lower this time, so it's not progressing so quickly as during the summer. A few of the cuttings are ready for potting, and I'll show you how to make that decision. Only 1 cutting failed by rotting so far. Knock wood, and wish me luck that the rest turn out this well.
