The cigar keeps the same blend as the original, a Nicaraguan puro using a corojo 99 wrapper from Jalapa, double binders from Estelí and Jalapa, and filler tobaccos also from Estelí and Jalapa.

Like the original, the cigars have a brushed or shaggy foot, meaning the first half-inch of the cigar is missing its wrapper. The idea here is to let a smoker taste the fillers by themselves and then get to experience the blend altogether.

MI QUERIDA FIRECRACKER

In 2016, Steve Saka’s Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust released a line the cigar world had been anticipating for nearly two years: Saka’s broadleaf cigar.
That line is Mi Querida, Spanish for my mistress, a regular production release made at the NACSA factory in Estelí, Nicaragua using a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers.
By the middle of last year, the line had grown to seven regular production sizes and this year it got its first limited edition release as part of Two Guys Smoke Shop’s annual Firecracker Series.
The Firecracker Series launched in 2007 with a special Don Pepin Garcia Blue Label cigar: short and with a long strand of tobacco running from the top of the cigar. As the name implies, the cigar was made to look like a firecracker and as such, it was released around the July 4th holiday.
In 2011, Tatuaje released a cigar called M80, which was once again exclusive to Two Guys, and the New Hampshire-based store would eventually release its own private label Firecracker cigar made by Tabacalera Leyendas Cubanas.
Since then La Flor Dominicana, RoMa Craft Tobac and Fratello have been selected as manufacturers for the Firecracker Series. This year marked the fourth consecutive year of a new Firecracker release with Dunbarton slated as the brand.
Two Guys says that the cigar, which measures 3 1/2 x 50, is “front loaded with ligero,” but otherwise features the same blend as the regular Mi Querida.
This is now the eighth vitola for the line.

The name comes from La Calavera Catrina, a zinc etching by José Guadalupe Posada. This year’s release is dedicated to four people who have passed, each of whom is identified by their initials included on the band.

Since Southern Draw Cigars came through our doors, I’ve been enjoying them to no end. Well made with great tobaccos at AJ Fernandez’s factory in Nicaragua - I mean, what’s not to love? Each blend is produced in small batches to ensure perfection, and Quickdraw Dark Habano is no exception.
Like the name implies, there’s a rustic Habano wrapper that’s dripping with oils. At the core is a mix of Nicaraguan and Honduran long leaves - this cocktail brings about nuances of espresso, cedar, and a natural sweetness. This totally satisfying premium can best be enjoyed with bolder beverages like IPA’s anise flavored liqueurs, or a nice cabernet.
