Recent Find in Jericho: PROOF THAT GOD EXISTS!?
Believers say "There is no scientific proof that God doesn't exist". Non-believers say "There is no scientific proof that he does". Believers say that the Bible proves God's existence. Atheists say that the Bible is just a bunch of fictional stories and yet archaeologists are constantly finding proof that some are actually true.
In 1951, Archaeologist Dame Kathleen Kenyon was called into the coast of the dead sea to give her opinion on a site that possibly could be the Famous city of Jericho.
Unlike other archaeological dig sites that are located close to water sources that have now either dried up or have become flooded, The underground water supplies of Jericho have continued feeding the city up to this day. The site Kathleen was sent to inspect is known today as Tel Jericho, after some initial digging and evaluation, Kathleen decided that there simply wasn't enough evidence to either disprove or confirm that this was indeed the fabled walled city of Jericho, so Kathleen called in a team to continue the dig. Kathleen and her team continued the dig for another 6 years and what they found would change everything!
The Jericho City site had initially been dated to around 4000 BC, this surprised most scholars at the time because according to them, the widespread use of agriculture and the domestication of animals had only occurred around 1000 years earlier.
Kathleen and her team had discovered that the site of Jericho had been built and rebuilt on top of itself over and over and that the site had been inhabited from as early as 9400 BC! Kathleen had found that over 10,000 years ago, shortly after the ice age had passed but woolly mammoths still existed, when the majority of Mankind was a Nomadic race of small clans of Hunters and Gatherers, living off the land and striving for survival, the people of Jericho had formed one of the first mass groupings of different clans to create a bustling city about the size of Washington Square Park, which is the first known settlement to have been surrounded by walls.
Inside the walls of Jericho, Kathleen uncovered something even more surprising, a tower nearly 30ft tall and that was built around 8000 BC.
The majority of Jericho's first people lived in mud houses around 14ft in diameter, these conical structures resembled mud tepees and had sunken mud plaster floors, each house also had its own area for storing grain.
After an unknown event, Jericho's walls were destroyed and its population was replaced by a different group of people. These people also built their houses from mud but they used mud bricks, this made their houses and of course, Jericho's walls, stronger and more advanced. These people were also more numerous than their predecessors, growing to a population of approximately 2000.

This is the American word for fringe, which is the hair covering your forehead. In America, its called bangs, are called bangs? Is called bang? I’m not sure how to use it. If there were a lot of people with fringes in a room, would that be a lot of bangs’s?
3. Sophomore
This is a word used to describe a student in their second year and freshman is to describe a student in their first year. What confuses Brits about these words is that they don’t understand why they are needed when you can say first year or second year.
4. Realtor
A realtor is an estate agent. In British English, the term real estate agent was shortened to estate agent whereas in America it was shortened to real..tor? If you know why, comment below.
5. Eggplant
An intriguingly misleading name for aubergine. In British English this also refers to the color, a blackish purple. This the same in America but it is called eggplant color.
6. Blinkers
This is the American term for indicators, the lights used on a car to indicate your intention to turn. This word is confusing to Brits because blinkers is the word used for the leather screens attached to a horses bridle to prevent it from being startled. The term “put your blinkers on” to a Brit means to go straight ahead and avoid distractions.
7. Sneakers
This is the word used for sports shoes, which are trainers in British English. It’s interesting that the Brits called them trainers because they are a good shoe for training in, whereas the Americans thought they were good for sneaking!
8. Station Wagon
Know as an estate car in British English it was given the name because it was used to transport people and luggage between country estates. In America, it was used to transport people and luggage to railway stations hence the term station wagon.
9. Faucet
Its the word Americans use for tap. It originates from the old french word “Fausset”. As America is a mix of a lot of European cultures some of their different words have remained in the language.

This is snakes and ladders, the board game. The original Indian game had snakes you slide down and ladders you climbed up for some reason this was changed in American for chutes which are basically slides or toboggans.

There are many misconceptions about Nigeria, it's not a poor country, it has a rich culture and cuisine, and not every man there is a prince who wants to give you money. Although Lagos, Abuja, and Calabar seem like well-established tourist locations, there are a few things we should avoid doing when we visit.
1. Don't Flash The Cash.
Most places accept credit cards, so the need for cash is low. Avoid carrying cash if possible and if you have to carry cash, avoid showing it. Keep your wallet and phone in your front pockets and don't wear any expensive jewelry or watches.
2. Don't Make Assumptions.
Although most Nigerians speak English and almost half are Christians you shouldn't assume their culture is the same. Over half of Nigerians are Muslim and the Nigerian culture is an amalgamation of multiple ethnic groups.
3. Don't Forget Your Vaccines!
In addition to your routine vaccines, it is recommended that you get vaccinated for Measles, Yellow fever, Polio, Hepatitis A, Malaria, and Typhoid. It is also a good idea to carry proof of your vaccinations with you as you may be asked for this at the airport.
4. Don't Forget Your Visa.
Unless you are a citizen of a neighboring country, you are going to need a visa to enter Nigeria. Start the process at least a month before your trip because it is quite a lengthy process and requires a lot of paperwork. it is also quite expensive, so be prepared!
5. Don't Be Afraid of The Cuisine!
Nigeria offers all types of international cuisines but their own is delicious (it maybe a bit spicy!) try "Bolli" which is roasted Plantain "Jollof" rice and "Suya" which are spicy kebabs.
6. Don't say you "Love Africa!"
Nigeria is a country, Africa is a continent. Going to Nigeria and telling a Nigerian you love Africa is like going to Cuba and saying you love "North America!"
7. Don,t Go Out Alone At Night
Taking walks or going out clubbing alone at night is not recommended. Get a guide or befriend a local, also avoid public transport and book cabs in advance from reputable companies!
8. Don't Forget Your passport
Get photocopies of your passport to carry around with you for identification and only show the original at the airport.
9. Pack Carefully!
Make sure you pack some necessities in your hand luggage, hold luggage can be delayed or even disappear so to avoid spending days in the same clothes, put some in your carry-on bag. Pack a torch and a battery pack too, as power outages are a common occurrence.

Italy… a country bursting with art and history. From pilgrimages to the Vatican to hitting the nightclubs in Milan, Italy sure is full of so many things to see and do that you’ll definitely want to go wild on this holiday. But, don't be too reckless, there are still some things you shouldn't do in Italy.
1) Don't forget to Validate your Ticket
Tickets for regional trains need to be validated, there are some exceptions, but in general terms, you have to validate your ticket before boarding. So find a validation machine, push your ticket into the slot until you hear the stamp being applied and your ticket will be good to go for up to six hours.
2) Don't order latte
Let's see... what do you want? a coffee? or milk? Latte means milk, so if you order a latte, you'll get a glass of milk. On the other hand, if you want a coffee, ask for an espresso, cappuccino... Try to remember that.
3) Don't forget to drive carefully
In Italy there are limited traffic zones. You'll need a permit to go through them and they don't give them to tourists. The ‘Centro Storico’ is usually a limited traffic area. There are no barriers, however, so if you cross over the limits a camera will take a picture of your license plate and you'll get a hefty fine... even if your car is rented.
4) Book in Advance
There are plenty of wonderful monuments to visit, but be clever and think about which ones in advance so that you can buy the tickets online. If not, you'll have to wait for hours to enter some places.
5) Don't Dress inappropriately in Churches
You may not want to miss the opportunity of visiting some of the best churches and cathedrals in the world. But, even if it's too hot, try not to wear shorts or go with bare shoulders. Remember to take some respectable clothes for those visits.
6) Don't Trust your GPS
Yes, I know you have all the maps of the world in your GPS, ok, right, however that won't be very useful for you here. In Italy, there are a lot of towns and villages from different regions with the same name. So, be clear about which is the one you want to head to.
7) Don't Assume You’re Getting Tap Water
In Italy, they prefer to drink bottled water, so if you're in a restaurant and you ask for still water, don't expect them to bring you a glass of tap water. They will bring you a bottle. So, to avoid misunderstandings, just make sure the waiter know which type you mean.
