Visiting a Philippine Subdivision - New home construction
Myra has a friend working in sales at this new Philippine subdivision. It is a part of Ayala Center in Barangay Tungkong Mangga. She went to visit her and got a tour.
By the sound of the plans, the whole development will eventually be a 'self contained' town. The plans are for about a 75 acres of commercial center ( Altaraza Town Center ) and about 345 acres of housing. There are plans for a 100 bed hospital, also a church, schools, shopping center, community center and more. The area cleared out of what was a very jungle like terrain is extremely large. The believe the church is under construction now. If we can get permission to cruise the entire area in a trike, we will have a follow up on this very soon. I have been watching this project from afar and wanting to go there but, Myra beat me to it.

I have a couple videos back to back. This one is for the Lala fans and the the next one is mostly Inday. A lot of you guys like to see the Filipina Girls.
I thought this was neat. Lala came to my house and said, "Inday wants to see you." When I got to the store, Lala was in the store window so I got her on video first. Myra had said, I went so long with a beer maybe I should run for Pope Jack. That is why the pope humor in the video. SEE why I smile and think 'Life is Good.' Inday came out later.

My trip to the Philippines was a gamble. I met Myra online and thought she seemed like a very interesting and 'Good' person I had never been to Asia and to be honest never even considered visiting any Asian countries. I decided to come over and visit this astoundingly interesting woman. It was the best decision I could have made.
I had been overseas, However only in Europe. I have been to Germany, Spain, France, The Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, and Switzerland. What I enjoyed most of all in Europe was a chance to experience another lifestyle and culture. I have found the Filipino lifestyle and Filipino culture much to my liking. I have found a home here.

Today I went with Cris Bamboo to meet Michael the Bamboo blind maker. This was interesting meeting another Filipino Craftsman, bamboo blind make, practicing his trade. You can tell this man has made plenty of blinds by the casualness with which he joins the bamboo slates. He starts off at his normal pace but shows me just how fast he go about halfway in the video. The bamboo blinds are sold raw or unfinished. They mys be shellacked in order o provide a protective coating. The may be coated a light 'natural finish or darkened with satin the shellacked top provide an Antiqued appearance. By nature bamboo darken as it ages. The stain hurries and enhances the nature aging process.

Perhaps my dehydration experience will prevent someone from doing the same thing. A hospital stay certainly could throw a wrench into a vacation that was filled with joyous anticipation.
Since I live here, the experience was not really a terribly unpleasant one. I was not watching my vacation time tick away while I lay in bed with an IV in my arm. Top anyone on vacation it would be rather a rather displeasing end to your daily frolic on the beach or your night on the town.
I have come to learn this is NOT uncommon over here. It is in fact quite easy to become enthralled with the tropical surroundings and get running around and totally forget the fact you haven't consumed enough water. Specially, if you have had a few alcoholic drinks you may not even be thirsty. Yet the lack of water can put your health in jeopardy.
I have had my faith in the Philippine health care boosted tremendously. I entered the hospital within thirty minutes had a urinalysis and blood analysis completed, and was put on an IV.
