Your ability to create content and use the Internet without fear is threatened by two bills currently in Congress. Imagine a bleaker version of the year 1980. The "Stop Online Piracy Act" (H.R. 3261) and the "PROTECT IP Act" (S. 968) would create such a world by enacting powerful deterrents to free expression by ordinary individuals on the Internet. Fearing malicious and false accusations of copyright infringement, which could result in protracted and costly legal battles, as well as criminal penalties and the elimination of the content they worked so hard to create, many people might not bother contributing to an open Internet culture anymore. That would create a true dark age and reverse the Internet's tremendous worldwide liberating influence.
Health care is not the same as health insurance, which is neither necessary nor sufficient for proper health care. Many people ignore or neglect their own role in providing health care, and misunderstandings of this term threaten many lives.
Some of the fundamental problems with the Obama administration's health care "reform" proposals are also discussed.
Sincerely,
Gennady Stolyarov II

This composition's harmonies resemble those found in music of the late 18th-century Classical period, while some of the devices used -- including the lengthy trills for the flute and the harp -- are more extensive than could be found in that era, as no human flute player could maintain a trill for as long as a computer program can. There are three basic melodies in this piece, and their orchestration is varied over time. The mood of the composition is light, cheerful, and playful -- although, it is to be hoped, not frivolous.
This work, originally composed in 2009, has been re-mastered in Finale 2011 software for four parts: piano, flute, bassoon, and harp.

On August 19, 2023, at Longevity Summit Dublin, U.S. Transhumanist Party Chairman Gennady Stolyarov II interviewed Ivan de Weber, PhD, CEO of Cortex Discovery - https://www.cortexdiscovery.com/ - which is using machine learning for drug discovery.
Dr. Ivan de Weber is a scientist and entrepreneur behind pioneering concepts in aging genetics and stem cells. Ivan turned to pharmaceutical bioinformatics amid an explosion in biomedical data. His quest for faster drug development led to the creation of Cortex Discovery.

The Fibonacci Rondo, a 2008 composition by Mr. Stolyarov, was inspired by the Fibonacci Sequence of numbers, where each subsequent number is the sum of the two previous numbers. If the Fibonacci Sequence begins with 1 and 1, then the first six numbers of the sequence are 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, and 8.
The recurring theme of this composition – which occurs once at 0:32 and again at 1:30 represents musically the beginning of the Fibonacci Sequence and the process of its formation.
If we assign the value 1 to the note C, then we can assign the following values to other notes in relation to it:
2 = D
3 = E
5 = G
8 = C one octave above the “1” note.
Then, through two eighth notes, we can represent the numbers being added, while the following quarter note represents their result.
So two eighth-note C’s will be followed by a quarter-note D to represent “1 + 1 = 2.”
Then the eighth notes C and D, followed by a quarter-note E, represent “1 + 2 = 3.”
Then the eighth notes D and E, followed by a quarter-note G, represent “2 + 3 = 5.”
Then the eighth notes E and G, followed by a quarter-note C from the next octave, represent “3 + 5 = 8.”
Thereafter, the same pattern is applied to other harmonies – both major and minor – to ensure a melodic progression.
The timpani accompaniment in the second appearance of the theme relates this basic structure without any other notes added to reinforce the harmony. Quite a bit of harmonic reinforcement is added in the parts for all the other instruments, however.
This composition is written for a piano, two string sections, and timpani, and remastered using the Finale 2011 software. It probably could not be played by a human orchestra, as the 32nd notes in one of the string sections are simply too fast to be played by human musicians. The ability to reproduce music of this sort is yet another way in which computers have expanded the range of human creativity.

This minuet conveys elements of tragedy and tension, all made possible without dissonance and with the employment of 17th-century Baroque harmonies. This is Mr. Stolyarov's demonstration that music can convey any sort of mood without resorting to violations of harmony. The present version is played in the Finale 2011 software using the Harpsichord instrument.

Help humankind defeat senescence and death by joining the Movement for Indefinite Life Extension (MILE). The MILE offers a way to gauge awareness of and support for indefinite life extension. One of the easiest and most important ways you can begin to make a difference in helping bring indefinite life extension about is to (1) go to the MILE Facebook page, (2) like the MILE on Facebook, (3) read and share the many informational, scientific, and philosophical pieces made available daily on the MILE page, and (4) spread the word to your friends and acquaintances who are already sympathetic to indefinite life extension.

On November 2, 2020, Sharif Uddin Ahmed Rana of the World Talent Economy Forum, gave a great interview to U.S. Transhumanist Party Chairman Gennady Stolyarov II and its 2020 U.S. Presidential Ticket – Charlie Kam and Liz Parrish – regarding the U.S. Presidential election and outlooks for the future beyond it. The USTP believes that this is what political discussions should be like, and all participants were heartened to conclude this interview on a message of unity and hope for massive progress in the years ahead, despite the turbulence of our times.

This remastered version of Gennady Stolyarov II’s composition, Progress Amidst a Crisis, Op. 66, was created by Jason Geringer in September 2022, with the animations for this video devised in a creative collaboration between Mr. Stolyarov and Mr. Geringer. The crisp, futuristic sound of this version updates it to be a relevant response to the crises of the present decade.
Originally composed in 2010, in the aftermath of the global economic crisis, Progress Amidst a Crisis intends to convey the struggles and determination of a creative, productive individual who continues to accomplish and persevere in an atmosphere of chaos, uncertainty, and the pervasive failure of societal institutions. This composition exhibits a clear contrast between the principal melody and the rapid, tumultuous accompaniment during the majority of the passages. The composition is written in D-minor, and the main melody displays a stern resolve to continue producing and accomplishing great things despite a clear recognition of the surrounding tumult and resistance. The accompaniment represents the surrounding conditions -- always on the verge of a systemic collapse that threatens to drag everyone down with it... but does not quite manage to overcome the productive individual.
