Took the jacked-up way to thin sluice out for a test drive and discovered some important things about what it's going to take to get working. And that was the whole idea of a sluice that cost me $5 in paint...rather than spending far more only to discover, I have the wrong machine. Once I got it working right, I was able to process a bit more sand before the bugs got too bad, and did actually manage to find a few small flakes. That's huge news...I had NO expectation of finding ANY gold, this was just to test drive the sluice, see what else I would need to do here.
