We have all made mistakes and those mistakes have helped us grow into the people we are now. Everyone deserves a second chance. Dale Cook, of Vicksburg Michigan needs your help to reboot his life. Dale Cook has lived an extraordinarily difficult last two years with the declining health of his father, a divorce from his second wife, an attempted suicide with ruining his truck into a tree at over 60mph, the death of his father, and finally on November 20th, one day after his 43rd birthday, another attempted suicide with an overdose of over 85 methadone pills. All of these events are combination of the previous 20 years of heavy methamphetamine addiction and crippling depression. The next morning, after attempting suicide his second time, he awoke in the hospital with the face of a dear friend of over 20 years in front of his eyes. Fortunately for Dale this friend was a friend who has been through a very similar journey. This friend was me. Many of you who follow the work that Kalina and I do, are aware of my past. My past also was run buy rampant drug addiction and depression. If you hadn't heard about this it is in the TV Show "Interview with ED" hosted by Reuben Langdon. After being in the I.C.U. (intensive care unit ) Dale was transferred to a regular hospital room to take care of the pneumonia from the aspiration breathing in his vomit during the overdose. After his physical body was stable and there was no more need to monitor him he was transferred to the mental health wing of Borgess hospital for a week. After his mental state was stabilized he was then transferred to the Oakland house where he resides now getting case workers to help him with his disability and also getting the much-needed drug and depression counseling. He is going to be released from Oakland house on either January 12th or 13th 2017. At this time he will need a place to stay. One of the biggest reasons we are doing this fundraiser is to find him a place to stay until his disability kicks in which could be 30 days or 6 months or more. There is also a $1,200 cost for him to fix his vehicle which is the reason his part-time work was cut short before of the attempted suicide. I cannot stay with any of his family or friends because of his past drug abuse issues and differences with those family members now.
