* (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) * Gwinnett County, Georgia — On Saturday, March 23, at approximately 11:00 a.m., officers from the West Precinct were dispatched to a dispute call at a waste management business on Corley Road in unincorporated Norcross. The initial responding officer responded and learned that a former employee had stolen a large, yellow front loader and was driving it around on the property. The vehicle weighs approximately 75,000 pounds and was equipped with a large bucket on the front. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the suspect continued driving and eventually exited the property onto Corley Road. The suspect traveled onto Jimmy Carter Boulevard toward Buford Highway. Once under the bridge near South Peachtree Street, he abruptly made a U-turn. He continued west while officers were trying to get him to stop. His movements were unpredictable as he navigated heavy traffic. The suspect made another U-turn. Officers from the Norcross Police Department and the Georgia State Patrol also assisted with the pursuit while keeping other motorists safe. As other officers pursued the suspect, the initial responding officer returned to the business to get another large construction vehicle that could disable the fleeing suspect. A trash truck and another front loader were escorted by officers to the fleeing suspect several miles away. The suspect in the stolen front loader turned left onto Brook Hollow Parkway and then right onto Center Way. He turned left onto Oakbrook Parkway, right on Pirkle Road, and then left on Singleton Road. Officers were using their patrol cars to block traffic. After turning onto Singleton Road, the pursuing front loader made contact with the suspect and flipped the vehicle onto its side. The pursuit came to an end on Singleton Road and Robin Hill Drive. This is approximately five miles from the original incident location. The suspect, 38-year-old Eddie Sanchez was removed from the cab of the front loader and placed under arrest. He was evaluated at a local hospital prior to being booked into the Gwinnett County Jail. He was charged with Criminal Trespass, Theft by Taking, Fleeing or Attempting to Elude, Reckless Driving, Criminal Damage to Property 2nd Degree, and Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer. While investigating the incident, the reporting officer learned that Sanchez was terminated from the business in September 2023. He visited the business several days prior and did something similar but never left the property. * (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) * Indian River County, Florida — On November 28, 2023, a stolen BMW SUV was detected by the Indian River County Sheriff's Office LPR cameras driving east on State Road 60 from the I-95 interchange. Deputies in the area received instant notification of the stolen vehicle and responded to the area. IRCSO helicopter, HAWK was also patrolling the area and quickly located the stolen vehicle on the back parking lot of Nino's Corner at the intersection of 43rd Avenue and State Road 60. As HAWK pilot was watching the stolen vehicle, he observed two suspects get out of the vehicle and attempt to enter two parked vehicles nearby. Within seconds, multiple deputies arrived on the scene and apprehended all of the suspects. 18-year-old Uriber Gonzalez-Lopez from Fort Lauderdale was arrested and charged with grand theft auto, travel to commit a felony outside county of residence, auto burglary, and resisting arrest without violence. His bond was set at $185,000. Twenty-year-old Jack Darlington was arrested and charged with grand theft auto, travel to commit a felony outside county of residence, and auto burglary. Darlington's bail was set at $150,000. A 17-year-old boy was also arrested. * (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) * Carroll, Iowa — On March 5, 2021, Carroll Police Officer Patrick McCarty saw 29-year-old Dennis Guider Jr. in the passenger seat of a car at a restaurant drive-through. Around 1:00 p.m. Officer McCarty stopped the vehicle and indicated Guider was facing arrest for a forgery case in Illinois. Officer McCarty asked Guider to step out of the vehicle. A minute later, Guider opened the driver door of the car and pushed out a woman who had been driving the vehicle. Guider refused to comply with officers’ commands to exit a vehicle and attempted to flee in the car. As he fled, the officer ended up on the hood of the suspect’s car. Authorities say Guider reached speeds up to 60 mph with the officer still on the hood before striking a culvert and throwing the officer from the vehicle, resulting in serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Officer McCarty suffered a broken vertebrae in his back. The officer was treated at St. Anthony Regional Hospital and released that day. Guider was later located in Chicago Heights, Illinois after ditching his original vehicle and stealing another vehicle from a garage with the keys left inside. District Associate Judge Joseph McCarville sentenced Guider to up to five years of prison to be served separately from the Illinois incarceration. Guider was wanted in Illinois for violating his parole for burglary and fraud. * (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) * Dallas, Texas — On Tuesday, July 25, 2023, around 11:00 a.m., Dallas Police Northwest Covert and Crime Response Team officers were watching a stolen U-Haul truck in the 9600 block of El Centro Drive. Officers reported seeing 41-year-old Ryan Taylor get into the truck and drive away. Taylor intentionally backed into a covert vehicle causing the airbags to deploy and pushing them into a fire hydrant. Officers tried to stop him, but he sped away on side streets and onto the Dallas North Tollway. For 13 minutes Taylor refused to stop for officers, intentionally hitting 13 vehicles. After getting off the tollway, Taylor continued to flee from police and hit other vehicles, before hitting the center median, hitting a tree, and crashing in the 7200 block of Lemmon Avenue. Taylor abandoned the truck and ran towards an open bay door of a private hangar building. Officers ran after Taylor and he fired twice at the officer. Ofc. Kennan Craven returned fire, striking Taylor in the leg. Taylor was taken into custody and then to a local hospital. No officers were injured, and no injuries were reported in the vehicles that Taylor crashed into along the way. Officers found the handgun Taylor fired at the scene, which was reported stolen.
