In this video, I show you an easy method of changing the Gnome Desktop Manager background image in Ubuntu or Pop OS using a GUI utility called gdm-background.

If you are unsure what that is, this is the background that appears when selecting the user account, you wish to logon into, for example, in Ubuntu, this background is a solid purple.
However, there are a couple of considerations:
First, this will only work on anything based on Ubuntu 20.04 and newer as the earlier releases do not use a .gresource file.
Second, if you are already using a custom gdm3 theme, then you will need to reset this to default otherwise you there could be conflicts.
Finally, if you have more than one monitor, then the background image will be replicated over each screen, and not spanned.
INSTALLATION AND USAGE
To install the too, navigate to the Releases section on the project’s page, download the latest .deb file and install on your system.
The interface is very simple, drag and drop an image file into the application, and then click the Set button.
You will be prompted to restart GDM, and then be logged out, where you will now see the newly set background image.
And to restore the default background, open the application again and click the Restore button.

This video covers installing and running Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order on Linux using either Lutris or Proton, depending on whether you have purchased it through Steam or EA Origin direct.
Lutris Method

Install Wine through your distribution’s Software Store or using a Terminal commands, for example on Ubuntu based distributions, the command is:
sudo apt install wine

Install Lutris using the recommend installation method for your distribution, for example, for Ubuntu based distributions, using the following three Terminal commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:lutris-team/lutris
sudo apt update
sudo apt install lutris
Next, search for the game within the Lutris source option, choose the Origin script and click on the Install button.
For some extra performance if you have an nVidia GPU, you can add the following to the Environment variables.
__GL_SHADER_DISK_CACHE_SKIP_CLEANUP=1
Steam Method
install Steam through your package manager, either using a Software Store or through the Terminal, for example on an Ubuntu based distribution, the Terminal command is:
sudo apt install steam
So once Steam is installed, open Steam, and sign into your account.
By default, Steam will not allow you to install the game, and run it with Proton but this can be easily resolved by navigating to Steam / Settings / Steam Play / Advance, and ticking the Enable Steam Play for all other titles option.
Restart Steam once done, and you will now be able to install, launch the game and sign into your Origin account.

Although the game is playable at this stage, you will notice that some of the game’s instructional videos when you choose a Force power.
To resolve this, install Glorious Eggroll's Proton-GE Proton build. you will need to use a custom version of Proton, called Proton-GE.
First, click on the releases tab on the right-hand side of the page, scroll down to the assets section of the latest release, download the tar.gz archive and extract the Proton-GE folder inside.
Next, open your Home directory, enable Hidden Files, navigate to. steam / root / and in this folder create a new folder called compatibilitytools.d, and paste the Proton-GE folder inside.
Restart Steam if already open.
Now right click on the game’s properties, and under the General tab, tick the Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool, and select the Proton-GE build.
Once again, for some extra performance if you have an nVidia GPU, you can add the following to the game’s custom launcher:
__GL_SHADER_DISK_CACHE_SKIP_CLEANUP=1 %command%

This video covers installing and running Starcraft II on Linux using Lutris.
Step 1: Ensure that you have the latest GPU driver installed that supports DXVK.
Normally this is installed using a GUI tool or through the Terminal, the Lutris wiki page on drivers is a good reference point.

Step 2: Install the latest version of Wine stable
The easiest method is through a Terminal.
If using an Arch based distribution:
sudo pacman -S wine
Or for an Ubuntu based distribution:

1. Install and enabling FSR For Games Launched Through Steam

Next, enable Hidden Files and navigate to steam / root / compatibilitytools.d and paste the copied folder inside.
In Steam, select the properties of the game and type WINE_FULLSCREEN_FSR=1 %command% into the game’s custom launch options.
2. Install and enabling FSR For Games Launched Through Lutris

In this video I cover how to enable hardware acceleration, video decode and rasterization when using Chromium based browsers on Linux.
To check the status of hardware acceleration, open a browser and type chrome://gpu into the address bar.
If you see anything listed as Software only then hardware acceleration is not enabled, and instead any video decoding will be using your CPU, not GPU.
So, to enable support for hardware decoding, open the browser and type chrome://flags in the address bar.
First, search for “hardware” and enable the “Hardware-accelerated video decode” flag and restart the browser.
On the same page, you can also enable GPU rasterization which can help to improve the quality of images and font rendering.
So this time, search for “GPU”, enable the toggle, and restart the browser.
Now when you go to chrome://gpu, all options listed except for Vulkan, should now have Hardware accelerated highlighted in green.
This means that all supported video rendering or decoding will now be handled by your GPU.

This video covers setting up Manjaro Linux for gaming using no terminal commands, but instead using GUI tools such as Pamac, Hardware Configuration, and Kernel Manager.
Step 1 - Update system using the Software Update application.
It is good practice to reboot after updating any system modules.
Step 2 - Install the latest nVidia GPU driver using Hardware Configuration application.
Make sure to update the system before installing nVidia drivers, and reboot after installing a driver to apply it.
Step 3 - Update Linux kernel to a newer version.
This will be required to support new AMD GPUs.
Step 4 - Install Wine, Lutris, and Feral Gamemode using Add/Remove Software application.
I recommend installing Wine Staging, gamemode, and lib32-gamemode.
Reboot the system to allow the Gamemode daemon to start at boot.
Step 5 - Install Steam - this is preinstalled in Manjaro.,

Cinders aims to provide a fresh experience through Dark Souls 3, here is an overview of the changes:
* Unique game modes, such as Gauntlet, where you faces the bosses in various orders.
* Progression is much less linear. There are now options to travel between different routes in-map, linking up the world.
* Enemies and bosses have been changed, in strength, abilities and placement.
* New bosses have been added.
* New classes and gifts have been added.
* Mechanics have been altered, such as reinforcement, which has been removed.
* Numerous new features have been added, such as new options at bonfires, new covenant offering system, Curse and Mark system, etc.
* Many weapons and armor sets have been added and placed in the world is a sensible fashion.
* Magic has been redesigned to operate in a more fluid way. FP naturally regenerates and casting is designed around this.
