Singularity and consistency are two words that define Binaryh's trajectory well. The Brazilian duo formed by Camila and Rene has been hitting hits with each new release and has already become one of the most beloved couples on the world techno scene. The prosperous relationship built between Binaryh and Prisma started in 2018, with the remix of 'Pulsar' by Paulo Foltz. In 2019 the duo released their first authorial EP on the label, 'Hydra', a hurricane on both streaming platforms and dance floors, being played at major festivals around the world by artists like Tale of Us, D-Nox, Eli Iwasa, Renato Ratier and many others. In 2020 two more great original hits with ‘Palladium’ EP also received support from prominent artists such as Fur Coat and Blancah. These releases constitute a solid base that is the result of the union of the serious and solid work of both parties. We are now in 2021, and Binaryh is back to Prisma Techno for another great chapter in this story with ‘Icarus’ EP, which is the 36th release of the label and marks Prisma’s seven years of existence. The title track 'Icarus' brilliantly combines two antagonistic forces, acid and melodic, symbolizing the duo essence, a perfect contrast between harmony and chaos. For those who know the history of Icarus, it will be easy to associate the acid tones with the moment when his wings are burning by the heat of the sun, and the melody corresponding to the dazzle of being flying. 'Icarus' demonstrates all the duo genius, presenting characteristics never seen in their previous productions. It's a powerful weapon, which fits perfectly in the most energetic moment of the dance floor! The second track of the EP, 'Procyon', has the same name as the brightest star in the Canis Minoris constellation, being, in fact, a binary star system formed by the spectral white Procyon A and its tenuous white dwarf companion Procyon B, orbiting each other. Here Binaryh intersperses two melodic lines in an analogous way the stars cosmic dance, an epic and intergalactic feeling emphasized by orchestral strings, a characteristic very present in their productions. In every collective celebration, there is an extraphysical energy field created from the thoughts and feelings emanated from the participants. When a considerable number of minds and bodies are focused on a single goal, it is possible to gather a large amount of energy and through it make changes. This collective power is the theme of 'Cosmic Arena', the new EP signed by deGust, composed of three tracks that show all his versatility and genius. The first track, 'Suspended in a Sunbeam', has a constant dialogue between kick and off-beat bass. On this solid basis, deGust explores plucks sounds recorded in the Minilogue, which are present throughout the song, giving a serious aspect of the track and that, combined with the melody, give us the feeling of bright sunrise. In 'Mote of Dust', deGust once again explores the power of the Minilogue on a hypnotic journey. A pair of synths intersect without ever meeting, creating a constant tension. LFO's in the pitch make the final part of the notes slide, generating hypnosis and creating a deformity in what would be the most common. The title track of the EP, 'Cosmic Arena', has a euphoric atmosphere that presents itself at the beginning, progressively developing until an epic break, with orchestrated pads serving as a backdrop for the vocal performed by deGust. The lyrics were inspired by an excerpt from the book 'Pale Blue Dot', by Carl Sagan, and talks about an image of the Earth taken by Voyager I on February 14th, 1990, bringing awareness of the magnitude of the whole, while making us remember how we are energy powers when brought together.
