DIY Tool Organization - Pin Nailer and Impact Driver Shelf
This is sort of the part 2 to the first shelf organizer. This one is for my pin nailers and my impact drivers, it also holds some of my framing squares and other miscellaneous tools. ================================ If you like what you are seeing, and want to see more "How To / DIY" videos, please subscribe! So, I have a bunch of bolts I sandblasted because they were soooo rusty. I needed to coat them and figured instead of spray painting them I would give Zinc Plating a try.
You are going to need:
- Clean Bucket (5 Gal)
- Water
- Vinegar
- Epsom Salts
- Regular Sugar
- Power Supply (I used a battery charger)
- some copper wire (just go get some house wiring, remnant if possible, that way it is cheaper)
So far it seems to be working great. I think I used too much Epsom salts, but other than that, pretty easy, coat 3 times and scrub with 0000 steel wool between coating, something like 15 - 20 min per coat.

This video started out with the purpose to remove the Steering Lock Actuator, but it ended up not being the problem. My problem ended up being a faulty Ignition Switch which is located down on the column. Hope this helps someone else who has to change one of these out.

This is a widget, not a real part. I thought I would document my workfflow on a simulated change to an existing part. Adding the recess at the back of the "spindle" and adding a tapered nose to the front spindle portion. There is some reordering of the feature tree and comarison between the "before" part and the "after" part. Hope you enjoy, Skud.

We did some towing recently and I knew that we would need some preemptive cooling for the Ford F350 as in the past when we have towed, it has gotten hotter than I am comfortable with. I use the BlueDriver module and app to monitor coolant temps, and anything over 210 makes me uncomfortable. We recently towed a 29' RV up to Crater Lake to do some camping and while the Fan Override Switch VASTLY improved things, it still runs a bit too hot for my liking. Also quite a bit of coolant came out of the expansion tank so that merits further investigation. It does have a new aluminum ebay radiator, OEM cap, and only blew coolant out to near the bottom of the reservoir. I, for sure, had it overfilled, and it doesn't smoke, white or blue on startup. Never the less, I am going to eventually bulletproof it. So here is the long winded version of adding a fan switch.

I went to the Dunes with my brother over on the Oregon coast in Coos Bay. I was having some vibration issues before this trip, and following the trip, things got significantly worse. This video is Part 3 of me changing out the carrier bearing. In this video, I reinstall the carrier bearing, reinstall the drive shafts and torque the driveshafts back down. I bought U-Joints for all parts of the driveshaft, but they don't seem to need replacing so far. Will do them down the road and probably do a bunch of painting of undercarriage parts, but for now, Enjoy!

This is the other set of lights I installed over my workbench. It shows me installing a light run in my shop off of the existing wiring. The power is going thru a new switch that I had to add. I am NOT an electrician nor is this wiring anything resembling a code installation.

This is Episode 5 of a mini series on design and build. This episode is on modeling the Buffing Wheel. It looks as if the professional set-ups are a bit different than the old stitched buffing wheels I am use to. It looks like I should have bought a 1-1/4" Shaft as that is more of a standard.
