After seeing a previous video where someone tried to get the Steel Battalion Controller to work with Hawken, I decided to take a crack at it myself.
Overall, the video doesn't show me doing my best in Hawken. I'm still fine tuning the sensitivity of the sticks and working additional controls (like using the Sight Change to side dash and back spin on command). The other issue is that I'm trying to keep controls as close to Steel Battalion as possible, which comes at a downside since the game speed is much faster in Hawken. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmrN9CJlMEw
I've been working on a DIY motion capture suit and wanted to post a video blog about it. While this first video was a learning experience for video editing, I'm hoping future videos explaining the project will be far easier to do.
This project uses MPU-6050s to track each limb's rotation and have computer software translate it for use in VR. My hope is that this will lead to cheaper full-body experiences that are also not limited to the HTC Vive and Valve Index.

After using the magic power of spreadsheets and a newly aquired digital caliper, I was able to properly calibrate my 3D printer. I decided to print a different calibration object as a test since this tested all axis at a much higher value. Sure enough, looks like it worked.

No, seriously, I'm terrible with it. Keep it away from me.
Debating on doing streaming, so here's a highlight.

Attempted to print a sunken mug I found on Thingiverse. Sadly the handle broke and discovered how badly calibrated the axis were. For some reason, OctoPrint stopped recording the footage early instead of the entire print job.
A giveaway that the axis aren't calibrated is that the head is dragging on the layers when moving around, which scrapes along the printed surface. This is also how the handle snapped off. I'd recommend to anyone new to 3D printing should invest in a digital caliper to more properly check the calibration test results. Also, check to see if there are any filament guides for your printer (I found some on Thingiverse for my printer), as they can greatly help in more accurate prints and less of a chance of clicking.

This was a video showing off how quickly you could using Kurtis' "Dirty Kurty' script to set up a server in less than 15 minutes, from Ubuntu 16.04 LTS installation to final deployment. The script isn't maintained to my knowledge anymore, but I figured I might as well upload it anyway.

This is a quick update video regarding my DIY Motion Capture Suit for VR use. Some progress has been made, but also I should explain why it took so long to make another video.

Kind of strange seeing it again. Figured I might as well upload it for others to see what VR was like back then.

Finally getting back into the swing of things with a quick video.
Many people complain that uploading their avatar into Resonite is complicated and hard. While uploading the base avatar isn't difficult, it doesn't give you all the advertised features the creator intended for VRC. I'm looking into a way to address this issue and allow the community to fill in the blanks when it comes to missing content.
In this video, I explain how the basic import process can be automated and the steps required for a Resonite developer to do so.
