The BATFE released a determination letter to SB tactical LLC that "clarifies" the shouldering of pistol braces or other devices not intended to be a stock. The letter explains that modification of such a device into a confirmation that could only be used as a stock constitutes redesign, but merely shouldering does not. I compare an SBR and a Pistol and explain the difference between a ruling and a determination.
