Welcome and today we are looking at another mini pedal from iSet. The hot distortion is a 3 knob distortion thick saturated gain pedal, with the controls you'd expect: tone, level and gain. The tone control doesn't get too mushy at the low end and never gets too harsh, there is enough gain to go around too. Today we are looking at an offering from TC, which is getting a bit of bad press at the moment just due to it's name, which is a little unfair. This chorus is pretty damn versatile with the ability to beam loads of different chorus voices to the pedal via the TonePrint amp, however, we are looking at the standard setting, which in and of itself, is pretty damn good. The pedal has your standard rate and depth controls plus a mix control to help you dial it in just right. It goes from really subtle shimmer to a great 90's modulation wobble, but never getting too much to be unusable. Today we take a look at the fantastic JSA Hot Toddy V2. The original has been a mainstay in my arsenal for a while and has made it's way onto the Pick Pocket series as the base tone, as it does such a fantastic job with dynamic playing and sweet, amp-like feel. The V2 is a tweaked version with some magical jiggery under the hood to get it even closer to the original source of inspiration. The pedal boasts 3 different clipping modes, altering the amount of diodes in the clipping section. This can take you from a polite, dynamic boost tone, through touch-responsive overdrive and well into saturated gain territory. With the 2 band EQ, you can really dial in the tone you need and especially if you get to know that bass control, you can add in a super thick and full sound or a precise tone to slice through the mix.
