The Jesus Music movie came out recently and I realize I don’t have much in common with it. When we played backyard parties, prisons, street locations, coffee houses, and a few rare churches brave enough to face the inevitable criticism, we did it to minister and evangelize. There was no industry giving us a shot. We loved Jesus and were compelled by a gift he’s given us that provided opportunity in places that were unique. Now with Covid rules, and an internet that has devalued music, pressuring people to re-invent their lives, new vistas may again open up for true disciples and artists. It feels like a new beginning.
