This fake pop-up scammer was sent it to me by a viewer, This was one of the most insane pop-ups I have ever seen. This scammer did the usual Event Viewer scam saying that the events were infections.

Hey everyone! This video is a video I've been meaning to make for sometime, in this video, we go over some of the common tech support scammer tactics that I see the most used. It's a little long but I tried to explain things the best I could. I also, talked about what to do if you were scammed. I was originally going to make it a separate video but it just all fell into place, what can I say... (If you are looking to watch that part, skip to 25:10)

This company called me back and the stupid scammer wanted to "crash" my computer for wasting his time. Once he couldn't get connected he gave up, and tried to make me syskey my own computer. He isn't the brightest bulb in the pack.

Hey everyone! In this video, we call a refund scammer that claims to be from PayPal saying my account was hacked and that he was going to "refund" the money. However, we all know this isn't true. After he couldn't get into my non-existent PayPal account he decided he was going to buy Target gift cards to "send me the money." Then since that didn't work he decided to start cursing and try putting a syskey on my VM.
If you ever receive a call about this kind of scam DO NOT ANSWER or call back! It is a scam you will NOT get any money back.

June 26th, 2017, I called a toll-free number (877-219-8684) that had a spam listing on Google claiming to be Gmail Tech Support, Kindle Support, Cricket Support, Norton Support, you name it they probably used it. So once I called this company, I stated that there was a message on my screen that said system alert. As expected, the scammer wanted to connect to my machine and "diagnose" the issue. He had me go to the GoToAssist website and download their software so he could connect to my machine over the internet. Once connected, he performed many of the common tech support scamming tactics such as running the tree command in CMD and writing out that I have a virus, lying about the logs in event viewer claiming they are all viruses, lying about the Performance tab in task manager claiming the CPU section had was my network utilization. So on and so forth. After all this he wanted to charge me a whopping $599.99 for fake services I didn't need and for problems I didn't have.

The first time I called this pop-up I got disconected. I called back and asked for the a lady I was speaking to and they guy told me she doesn't' work here. I thought whatever I'll just talk to this guy then our call got disconected. Finally I called again and I got different hold music than before and a dirent auto-attendant then I knew many companies were sharing this same fake pop-up. I ended up reaching this fake American scammer who really knew nothing about computers and he sounded like he was reading a script. They also claimed to be Microsoft when really they are Opti Tech Support. As I already knew based on the fake pop-up this company was a scam. They pulled most of the usual tricks and a few new ones that I need to add to the site.

This was a fun call to Support Buddy, messing with them by renaming all the programs they use to something different. ex. cmd123 so when the scammer searched for "cmd" they got an error.

This video is the start to many videos that I hope to produce more of in the future and that is more videos of how scammers try to scam mac users. It had came to my attention that there aren't any videos out there about the tactics used by Mac scammers to steal money from victims just as they do on Windows. For those who think that because you are on a Mac that you are immune to these scams, well, as you will find out in this video you are not. The scammer used many of the same tactics used on Windows but in a slightly different format.
