We are big fans of the products Grodas Rifle Stocks manufacture and have been waiting most of 2015 to actually get our hands on the new Berserk. Oscar did not disappoint!
I know I'll be putting these on a few of my Tikkas!

Every Tikka Shooter knows Tikka makes an excellent rifle system and the CTR has been no exception. Since the launch of the CTR, Tikka has increased its sales and market share substantially. What’s not to like about an affordable rifle that comes from the factory set up to accept a muzzle device, decent optic rail, and 10 round capacity? Except the magazines….
Those magazines are EXPENSIVE! On top of that, availability is a major issue.
Here’s the solution. A drop-in bottom metal that converts your CTR to accept industry standard AICS and AICS clone magazines. AICS compatible magazines are available from vendors worldwide. Availability is not an issue and prices range from $35 - $80 per magazine.
The Mountain Tactical AICS Conversion Kit for the CTR has a large, beveled magazine well designed to make mag changes quick and effortless. The magazine well allows for positive engagement with the action when the mag catch is secure and releases the magazine to fall free from the rifle once the mag catch is pressed.
The ergonomic mag catch has no sharp edges that could snag on clothing or gear.
A barricade stop is machined onto the front of the magazine well creating a secure point to hold the rifle system steady without compromising the reliability of feeding the next round into the chamber.
The trigger guard is enlarged to facilitate gloved hands without compromising safety.
An additional benefit of this bottom metal is the fact that it simplifies the conversion of any Tikka rifle to accept AICS compatible magazines. Since we are utilizing an OEM factory inlet, you can purchase any aftermarket stock inlet for the CTR and this bottom metal will drop in to convert your standard T3 or T3x rifle to accept AICS magazines. No gunsmithing or special inletting required!
It is possible to modify an existing T3 or T3x stock to accept this bottom metal. A competent gunsmith can relieve the material from your stock to allow this bottom metal to be installed.
Moreover, the AICS Bottom Metal is covered under our unconditional lifetime warranty!
Magazine Compatibility:
Drop-In – All known metal AICS and AICS Clones and MDT polymer magazines
Need modification – Mag-Pul Pmags and AICS 223 polymer magazines (material outside the feed lips must be removed)
Specifications:
Mag Catch Material – Stainless Steel
Mag Catch Finish – Mill Finish
Bottom Metal Body – 6061-T6 Billet Aluminum

This is our first look at the new Tikka T3X. Beretta was kind enough to ship us one early to play with and to make sure our aftermarket components would fit.
Sorry about the machine noise in the background. I was cutting rails when the rifle came in and didn't want to shut everything down for the video.
There are definitely improvements with the new rifle and we are excited to get it out and shoot it!
Notable changes:
Stock
1. The stock has the same basic geometry as the original T3 stock but is much quieter. Tikka filled the hollow areas with a light weight dampening material to cut down on the hollow noise.
2. The grip area is much more tactile and should eliminate slipping in in-climate weather
3. The strong hand grip is modular and will accept the more vertical pistol grip Tikka plans on offering. At this point we do not know how to acquire the different grip
4. The forend grip is supposed to be modular as well. Again, we do not have access to the wider forend yet, but will add an update video when we do.
5. The recoil pad is SIGNIFICANTLY better than the T3. Limbsaver might lose some business on this one!
Action
1. The ejection port is slightly larger. This will aid in single loading and will make ejection more reliable. The change is subtle, so we'll see if there is any real world improvement here.
2. The top of the action no longer has the grooves milled into it. This is great since the grooves would typically cause a burr in the optic mount threads and could ruin screws if the shooter was not careful.
Bolt Shroud
1. It is steel! No more plastic that will crack at some point.
2. There is a spring inside the shroud to keep it from rattling.
Recoil Lug
1. It's steel! Much more durable than the cheap aluminum lug in the T3. There is a witness mark from the factory test firing which concerns me. The steel they used may only be a mild steel. While it is an improvement, it may not be strong enough for long term use. We'll keep you guys updated as we test it out.
