An old Shure SC series VHF wireless system (SC1 transmitter + SC4 receiver) was faulty. The problem was traced to the local oscillator board in the receiver, which did not produce any output. Applying pressure to this board could make the unit start or stop working. Re-flowing the soldering joints on this board seemed to fix the problem. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GqRclPsp7RQ
The instrument did not have sound through the speakers. The problem was diagnosed to be in the power supply of the amplifier. A step-down converter chip by Linear Technology has failed. The chip was replaced, and the accordion is back in business.

This Shure PSM300 P3T transmitter did not show any audio level on the display, and the receiver did not show the blue light (but showed the RF level). The fault was traced to a tiny (0402) 1 ohm resistor on the output from the 9V regulator, so that the audio section did not get power.

DIY Li-ion battery pack for Fluke 19x scopemeters. About twice the capacity of the original Ni-MH pack. Requires a small modification in the scopemeter: adding a 120K 1% resistor across R4113.

The meter I repaired in my previous video still has a bad gas discharge display. In this video a project to build a replacement was started. Three different approaches were discussed and prototypes built using Atmel Mega 328p micro-controller. The software was written in C and assembly languages in Arduino environment.

Teardown, analysis and repair of the Zoom power supply that was found to be dead in the previous video. It seems that the supply did not survive some sort of a surge on the input, and there was no protection against that. The supply was repaired and some details of the design were discussed.

The instrument had a couple of faults: some flicker and jitter on the display, and some noise in the signal in VNA mode mostly visible at lower frequencies. The flicker disappeared after reconnecting some internal connections. The noise was traced to a cracked soldering joint in the VNA module.

Another good deal from eBay. It is an HP 33120A 15MHz function and arbitrary waveform generator. The instrument was sold for parts or repair and described as "untested". It turned out to be a simple fix. I hope it is still of interest to someone.
