This is poetry vlog #5 of Ecke's ‘Let the Unnecessary Fade’. Let the unnecessary fade Something seems lost in this perfunctory petulance I carry around; a sharp tongue cutting away at the ties that bind. Yet naked in the wind I stand occasionally longing for the stability fostered by those severed lines. In wild attempts for freedom none are spared the unending gaze of judgment clouded by life’s imperfections. Scrutiny upon scrutiny upon scrutiny upon scrutiny upon scrutiny. Let it peel away with the dead skin and the fingernails. Let the unnecessary fade with the sunset so the stars may shine. The mind is powerful, and this power terrifies the moral being we are conditioned as, For it is power which terrifies the conscience more than anything. True freedom is to remove both safety net and glass ceiling, offering nothing but space in which to both create canvas and paint upon it. To embrace weakness, strength, cowardice, courage, and accept the world and self as an unending swirl; equal parts chaos and calm. While hacking away at the bloodlines of control, it must be said, many vital arteries will be spliced. Thus freedom is a cold and lonely place. Beware of alienation travelers. As zealotry shifts towards reason, dogmatic equations reject the unknown. This cannot reasonably be deemed reasonable, as the only true source of reason is defined by truth in acceptance of our vast ignorance. The anthropocentric concept of my thoughts creates a turmoil of emotion illustrating the inconceivable speck we represent. Yet why think of history and heavy things when the now is ever-present, waiting for wisdom to humble us to its momentary perfection?
