Raw and Unedited | Episode8 | Sun Joe Wood Splitter Debut
Part of my daily homestead chores now is splitting fire wood for the winter season. A *very* handy tool to help with this is my new Sun Joe wood splitter. It's a manual 10-ton hydraulic ram wood splitter that is so incredibly easy, you can do it one handed! If I can do this, YOU can. ;) Take care, see you in the next one...
After attempting to grow a few select medicinal herbs from seed, these were among the unsuccessful ones, so this year I decided to purchase them online from a couple different reputable sources.

When I first began the sweet potato slip experiment I thought I would be getting a decent yield this Fall. However, between the short growth time that I allowed for the slips, combined with our intense summer heat of the desert, I believe that is what caused the demise of the crop. Live and learn, right!?! **How long do you grow your sweet potato slips prior to planting? Comment below.**

Lets get real for a moment. No one really wants to talk about waste disposal of any kind, but it *is* a necessary topic to cover. I will briefly touch on the temporary system that I have in place while I wait to get connected to my septic and private well.
Hope you are having a great week, take care, see you in the next one...
Have you ever pulled your maple syrup out of the pantry only to discover there was something odd growing in it? My breakfast on the Homestead was rudely interrupted by this strange discovery.

Whoever said bad things happen in three's was right! ;) Part of that is, it's just how things are sometimes on the homestead. Especially if you are basically starting over from scratch. That's when you have to remind yourself that this is a high learning curve and each 'setback' has a lesson hiding within, and we need to be prepared to listen.
Stay warm everyone! Take care, God Bless, and see you in the next one...don't forget to tap the pink Follow button and the bell notification. :love_you_gesture:
Sometimes it's nice to reach for a hard cover book instead of Mr. Google-pants. ;)
I'm one of those people who remember using a card catalog in the school library, and that musty smell as you flipped through the cards. There are just some things that can't be replaced, and a book is one of them.
This reading list is just a sample, but I hope you find it useful, especially if you are just getting started. Fall is approaching and it's the perfect time of year to curl up with a book, a blanket, and your favorite cuppa tea.
Take care, see you in the next one...

Who would have thought I would be running my clothes washer with a *solar-powered generator*! It was fun waiting for the Jackery results, and pleasantly surprising. I have been using it regularly for powering my Instant Pot to cook dinner, and now looking forward to bringing it along a 7-day camping trip in the mountains *soon*. There may be a follow-up video, so keep your eyes peeled. ;)
