Part of this Bushcraft Mini-Series is testing a method that should prevent the ticks from biting me. While this worked perfectly on day one, and also during day 2 I did not notice any bite, on the morning of day 3 I noticed 6 tick bites, that must have happened after I came home in the evening and went to sleep.
I must somehow have shlepped the ticks home, then after cleaning myself, they must have considered myself edible.
So even if the repellant method described here, works for a while, you should always be extra cautious, not to drag ticks home, onto your couch or bed. Esp. in the summer they can stay active in rooms, and wait for weeks and months for their next blood feast - given the air humidity is 80% or higher (typically in the summer).
It's good to have a hobby and do the things we love, despite or even because of the nightmare that politics have become. Here I show my secret recipe for fake opals that are actually not really looking like opals, but even more fascinating than probably anything that nature offers.
Despite some controversy surrounding Dr. McCullough, I find it remarkable that Lancet practically censors this study by not permitting it from being peer-reviewed, and actually deleted it from Lancet's "pre-print" server. Besides questionable sales of remedies against spike protein contamination (while that is really something we should look into), the Interview (https://odysee.com/@AussieFighter:8/Doctors-Censored-by-The-Lancet-in-Paper-that-Found-74--mRNA-Vaccine-Related-Cause-of-Death--SHOCKER.:9) of Naomi Wolf with Dr. McCullough about this censorship attempt is very interesting, with some information about mentioned remedies, around minute 19. This is a technical paper, stored here for medical researchers, and as a back-up.
Short PDF, describing a way to optimize the ALF design, in order to reduce magnetic coughing and material stress, thereby allowing much higher power density compared to the original design.
On this sunny july 2nd I am checking out a deserted spot that I have located on satellite images. Where industry and highways cut the landscape there are often isolated patches of forest.
On the ground I must learn that I am not the only one, seeking for a human-free hide-out in the midst of overpopulated switzerland. Aparently a golden jackal pack has already taken over this nomansland. But it was still a nice hike, on this 55th birthday of mine. (No actual footage of the jackal, sorry. Also added hollywood drama score to some accidently recorded footage, just for fun)
From my 2018 metallurgy experiments: I describe how to use a microwave oven to melt small amounts (I'd say up to 10g maybe) of metals or glass (or to fire small clay objects). Using borax as a flux that helps metal particles to assemble as a bead at the bottom, while sand will unite with the borax glass, is recommended. Do not inhale borax dust! Be very careful, this is 1200 degrees celsius! Always have a steel tub underneath things, in case the kiln would break apart while handling it.
BTW as a sideproduct, I also produced tiny diamonds in this kiln.
Main point is: use ceramic as kiln walls and crucible, and plaster chips as insulation. Note: cast plaster will crumble, better use crumbles from the beginning.
