If you are expecting a baby, Congratulations to you! Pregnancy is amazing and comes with a few challenges especially in the first trimester. From restless legs to all day nausea and morning sickness, and everything in between, I have found many natural remedies to help support a holistic pregnancy in the first early weeks. This is my 7th pregnancy and 5th baby so I have tried many things over the years and this is what has worked best for me. The best home made granola recipe I’ve ever tried!
Toss together:
5C old fashioned rolled oats
2C walnut pieces
1C Desiccated Coconut (I shred the shredded coconut more with a quick blender blitz.)
1/2C hulled hemp seeds
3T chia seeds
1/2C flax meal
Mix together:
1/2C brown sugar
1 1/4C melted coconut oil
1tsp vanilla extract
1/2tsp almond extract
Add wet to dry ingredients. Mix and mash well.
Spread on lined baking sheets.
Bake 250’f for 1 hour
Last 10 minutes of baking add more shredded coconut and dried fruit.
Cool completely. Store in glass jars or ziploc for 1-2 weeks. Freezer for long term.
Optional 1C small or diced dried fruits of choice.
Optional drizzle with honey or maple syrup prior to baking.
