Here is the description of another historically used medieval helmet, and one of my favourite, the Sallet. Widely used in Germany and other European countires like Italy, France and England the Sallet is definitely one of the most significant pieces of medieval armour ancient warriors used in combat. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BECM1OnBPeg
The ancient Greeks and all ancient people couldn't see blue. Were they all colour blind? Let's debunk this myth once and for all.

Demon's Souls, developed by Bluepoint Games and published by Sony is an action role-playing game. It is the remake of Demon's Souls, a game released for the PlayStation 3 in 2009 and developed by FromSoftware. The game is used as a launch title for the PlayStation 5 in November 2020.
The game presents new armor, new weapons and new rings, plus some new items called "Grains" which are used to give players a temporary resistance to harmful effects like poison, fire, and bleeding. Same as with the 2009 game players are limited in how much they can carry before their character start becoming encumbered, and this encumbrance system has been changed in some of its aspects. There is also a new feature, called "Fractured World". There is also a photo mode in the game; when you use this mode you can pause the game. Bluepoint said that this remake would not introduce different difficulty levels. The character creation feature has been revamped too adding more options for character customization.

The steel is named after Damascus, the capital city of Syria. It may either refer to swords made or sold in Damascus directly, or it may just refer to the aspect of the typical patterns, by comparison with Damask fabrics (which are in turn named after Damascus).
The original method of producing Damascus steel is not known. Modern attempts to duplicate the metal have not been entirely successful due to differences in raw materials and manufacturing techniques. Several individuals in modern times have claimed that they have rediscovered the methods by which the original Damascus steel was produced.

In this video we have the words of a Japanese Iaido sensei with more than 30 years of experience, who will help us answer some fundamental questions about the samurai, how they fought and their martial techniques and how much they differ from modern day Iaido and Kenjutsu.
I wish to thank Antony Cummins for providing this footage and making the interview in Japan and sharing it with me and I would also like to thank Ikeda sensei for sharing his knowledge with us and the world.

A Highly requested second episode of the series Army vs Army.
A Roman legion was the largest unit of the Roman army, consisting of centuries as the basic units.
For most of the Roman Imperial period, the legions formed the Roman army's elite heavy infantry, recruited exclusively from Roman citizens, while the remainder of the army consisted of auxiliaries, who provided additional infantry and the vast majority of the Roman army's cavalry.
A legion consisted of several cohorts of heavy infantry known as legionaries. It was almost always accompanied by one or more attached units of auxiliaries, who were not Roman citizens and provided cavalry, ranged troops and skirmishers to complement the legion's heavy infantry.
From the time of Gaius Marius onwards, legionaries received 225 denarii a year; this basic rate remained unchanged until Domitian, who increased it to 300 denarii. The soldiers did not receive all the money in cash, as the state deducted a clothing and food tax from their pay. To this wage, a legionary on active campaign would hope to add the booty of war. Slaves could also be claimed from the prisoners of war and divided amongst the legion for later sale, which would bring in a sizeable supplement to their regular pay.
All legionary soldiers would also receive a praemia on the completion of their term of service: a sizeable sum of money and/or a plot of good farmland; farmland given to veterans often helped in establishing control of the frontier regions and over rebellious provinces.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim: an arpg video game developed by Bethesda Game Studios.
The main story is about the player character's quest to defeat Alduin the World-Eater, a dragon who is going to destroy the world. The game takes place in Skyrim, the northernmost province of Tamrie and is set 200 years after the events of Oblivion. Over the course of the game, the player completes quests and develops the character by improving skills. The game is an open-world arpg like its predecessors and allows the player to travel anywhere in the game world at any time, and to ignore or postpone the main storyline.
