Many of you asked what the oppossums were eating in the previous opossum video. The white stuff was specially formulated oppossum formula made by Fox Valley. The green stuff was a "Susan-concoction'. Susan says: "Possums are notorious for eating only their favorite things and leaving the healthy food behind. So everything goes into a sort of possum stew which includes softened cat food, cooked vegetables, yogurt, hard boiled eggs with shells. It can also include sardines or chicken hearts and necks. The egg shells and bones in sardines and chicken necks provide natural calcium which is very Important for them. They also get some fruit."
These baby raccoons found our bird and squirrel feeder. Didn't they get the message that this isn't theirs until night time? Guess not!

Some of you observant viewers noticed Amy playing in the background of another video that Susan was recording earlier in the week. I must admit that I too started not paying attention to the foreground of the video to watch her play in the background! Never fear, Susan noticed too and when done with her other video went back to grab some video of Jenny playing. RIDICULOUSLY CUTE. How does Susan get anything done? Why is she not just sitting out in the yard watching the bears alllllll day?????

Rosie, as discussed in previous video, is a female Kodiak bear. Our bears live in groups - and she lives with Kimmy (a black/syrian mix) and Randy a male syrian brown bear.

We expected more from LEO with the pumpkin but he was completely underwhelmed and uninterested. He threw it into the pond and walked away. Apparently pumpkins are beneath him.

What do the bears eat? The bears have a very varied diet. Fruits, vegetables, grain, some salmon dog food, meat, grass, nuts, etc. Here is a video of them eating one of their daily meals. The peaches are from our trees. They also have some chicken and vegetables there. Today they ate their last watermelon, it is now pumpkin season but they don’t eat pumpkins. Cod liver oil is in the little white cup near the end of the video. They love grass. When there isn’t enough in their enclosure Susan picks it for them. Right now they are also enjoying the acorns that fall from their oak trees. The bears eat many other things like eggs, lettuce, kale, and different meats. Of course they like sweets and are happy to get some nice pastry. They also get vitamins.

You all know by now that the bears here aren't "trained" to do anything and don't do tricks or things on command. They just have a fun and loving relationship with Jim and Susan. Well Amy just happened to do THIS the other day! Lol!!

Maddy (black colored bear on log), Frankie - black bear, Jenny and Amy all out in the yard. Some of you have asked us if the bears ever fight. They have SPATS, or SWIPE at each other, but usually they do what you see if this video - kind of yell at each other and move on. Most of our bears really try to avoid any kind of controversy.
