Ivermectin - the conflicting evidence
People are furiously debating right now whether ivermectin is a miracle drug for Covid-19, or whether it’s completely worthless. So far, we’ve had only low quality studies to draw from, along with plenty of strong rhetoric on both sides. Now we have two studies – meta-analyses of all the studies done to date – a process that may give us a more reliable picture. There’s only one problem. They come to completely opposite conclusions. Last week, the UK's Committee on Climate Change presented a report to the government calling for net zero emissions by 2050, and laying out how this could be achieved in some detail.
Since there's lots of talk about how quickly we could achieve such a target, particularly from campaign groups such as Extinction Rebellion, who think it can all be done in six years, I thought it might be used to dive into the detail of one section to look at what the report thinks needs to be done to get to next zero in energy production.
