A timeout from my Black Star Canyon series as I show the location from an independent movie that I think you should see. I explain my full experience at this area with pictures here:

Happy Easter!
The 3rd and final video of this series.
This is the coming back video where I think about 98-99% of the drive is shown back to HWY 395.
I liked the way a website listed below described this one as, "Totally unpaved and pretty rough." This is much better than the first video I uploaded since it shows a lot more of the rough road.
I have "scary" memories of my dad and grandfather driving me on this road in the dark at around 4:00 am in the morning when I was around eight years old to fish the lake. I could not see much, but remember feeling like something could go wrong at any moment. Decades later I had forgotten about some of that until we were driving on it again.

It's on! This new project has started!
This is a new project that I will be doing in a new separate channel for 2011. It is very much like what I usually do on this channel, but just different enough to justify putting it elsewhere to avoid confusion of it running with what I normally put up on here. So, if you have any interest in this check the other channel sometime in the middle of January. Everything else remains the same for this channel.

I spoke rather quickly because I wanted this to take about ten minutes. Issue #2 is the one that is the one I think is the most important for the public to be aware of.
00:00 A.D.D. Intro
01:16 Point #1 About Ads on some of my videos
02:19 Point #2 No more GPS coordinates
06:30 Point #3 Changes on the way I do videos now
08:41 Point #4 Not looking for work or other projects to do
09:27 Point #5 I could use some help if you know a mountain scrambler with GoPro in the Eastern Sierra.
10:19 Conclusion: Thanks to my viewers!

Okay, he says he wasn't chasing her. No need to debate semantics here. I have some other things I want to put up before I get back to this mini-series with G.A. Rock. I'll get back to it in the next month or two. My blogs on this one:

This is a reboot of a video I did around five years ago. Over the past three years I have been thinking of doing this one over. The problem I had during the last two summers, and other times of the year, is getting the conditions right. There were times I would be driving by and not even bother going into the Alabama Hills since the clouds were drowning out Lone Pine Peak and Mt. Whitney which was important for me to get right for the ending of the video. I took this video last August, and it is good enough for what I was trying to achieve.
I have completely redone the blogs I did on this location back in 2006. They have new pictures:

About a year ago I put up a bunch of unedited footage. Much of the footage was damaged after a flashcard fail, so at the time I was just happy to get something up otherwise I would have to do the hike again! After much thought I decided to take down the two videos of this hike and re-edit it as slightly shorter one video with music. The hike is an important historical one since Native Americans have been using it for very long time and it contains the very first glimpses Euro-American's had of Mono Lake coming down the trail near the end.
Also, in the movie world, I do a brief shaky zoom of where the town of "Lago" was in Eastwood's "High Plains Drifter." Near the pass are the historic pioneer cabins. The videos of this hike deserved a little better than what I originally put up, so this is the best I can do considering this is the best footage I was able to recover.
I have a couple of blogs on this one. Start here for still pictures and more info:
