Residents from Luwero, stakeholders and officials have paid homage to the brave heroes and heroines who played pivotal roles in Uganda's struggle for independence, as well as those who have made remarkable contributions in diverse fields.
Representing the Head of State, Prime Minister Robbinah Nabbanja graced the Heros day, uniting the nation in remembrance and recognition of these exceptional individuals.
Hero's Day celebrations were held at Kataala Catholic Parish, Butuntumula Sub-County grounds, Luwero District, to honor heroes and heroines who played pivotal roles in the struggle for Uganda's independence and those who have made outstanding contributions in various fields.
Prime Minister Robbinah Nabbanja represented the Head of State at the ceremony. The ambiance was vibrant and filled with reverence.
Fifty-one distinguished personalities received special category medals, acknowledging their unwavering dedication and service.

National Agricultural Research Organization has introduced a new anti-tick vaccine to enable livestock farmers to address their challenges.
The director general of NARO Dr. Yona Baguma says the anti-tick vaccine comes in at the right time with a vaccine facility that still needs to be facilitated for it to operate fully.
This was during a tour by the Agricultural committee to some of the NARO technologies which included the new anti- tick vaccine, coffee, fish among others where they pledged total support.

The Ministry of Land is set to conduct a land awareness week in Lango, aimed at enlightening communities about their land rights and policies.
Minister for Lands, Judith Nabakooba, says the information gathered during this event will serve to validate various land-related concerns.
A joint council resolution will be passed to guide actions by Local Government, and a petition outlining the key findings of the Land Awareness Week 2023 will be presented to the Government.
Nabakooba has underscored the importance of revoking illegally acquired land titles in order to restore order and integrity in the system.
