"***New Order***"are an English rock band formed in 1980 by vocalist and guitarist ***[Bernard Sumner](https://cutt.ly/9b9XrVA)***, bassist ***[Peter Hook](https://cutt.ly/9b9XrVA)*** and drummer ***[Stephen Morris](https://cutt.ly/eb9XiCi)***. The band formed after the demise of post-punk band ***"[Joy Division](https://cutt.ly/eb9XiCi)"***, following the suicide of lead singer ***Ian Curtis***; they were joined by ***[Gillian Gilbert](https://cutt.ly/mb9XsDe)*** on keyboards later that year.
***”New Order's”*** integration of post-punk with electronic and dance music made them one of the most acclaimed and influential bands of the 1980s.
Embracing the electronic textures and disco rhythms of the underground club culture many years in advance of its contemporaries, the group's pioneering fusion of new wave aesthetics and dance music successfully bridged the gap between the two worlds, creating a distinctively thoughtful and oblique brand of synth pop appealing equally to the mind, body, and soul.
Compared to previous album's half-hearted songwriting and rote sound, ***”Lost Sirens”*** positively shines - leading to the customary questions of why this material didn't replace several, if not many, songs on the original Sirens' Call.
Most of the excitement is due to the lead-off track ***"[I'll Stay with You](https://cutt.ly/XnurK4D)"*** a solid rocker that sounds like it should've been their comeback single after 2001's energizing ***”[Get Ready](https://cutt.ly/6nevj06)”***.
As on much of their work of the 2000s, guitar is forefront and synths are used only for texture, but with excellent results, led by the mid tempo storm of "Hellbent" (the only previously unreleased track, which appeared on a 2005 hits collection).
Whether we’ll ever see ***”New Order”*** as a ‘complete’ entity again remains to be seen, ***”Lost Sirens”*** makes for a welcome parting shot; a sugared pill to take before slipping away into happy dreams where Bizarre Love Triangle plays from now until eternity.
***”Californian Grass”*** is the fourth song on the band’s ninth studio album ***"[Lost Sirens](https://cutt.ly/Vnevnc3)"***, released on 11 January 2013 by ***"Rhino Entertainment"***.

***"The Cranberries"*** were an Irish rock band formed in Limerick, Ireland. Originally named the ***"Cranberry Saw Us"***, the band formed in 1989 by lead singer Niall Quinn, guitarist ***[Noel Hogan](https://cutt.ly/mvPT5VJ)***, bassist Mike Hogan, and drummer Fergal Lawler. Quinn was replaced as lead singer by ***[Dolores O'Riordan](https://cutt.ly/nvPYv31)*** in 1990, and they changed their name to the ***"Cranberries"***.
Then, they performed their first UK tour opening for the British band ***”Moose”*** throughout a series of three weeks. “***The Cranberries***” received more letters expressing interest from ***Virgin***, ***EMI***, ***Imago***, ***CBS***, and ***Warner***, which led Hogan brothers to quit their jobs.
***”The Cranberries”*** headed back into the studio in Dublin in March 1992 to restart working on their first LP with ***[Stephen Street](https://cutt.ly/8vSpqEg)***, who had previously worked with the ***Smiths***.
***"Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?"*** is the Cranberries debut studio album released on 1 March 1993 after four EPs.
O'Riordan herself offers up a number of romantic ponderings and considerations lyrically (as well as playing perfectly fine acoustic guitar), and her undisputed vocal ability suits the material perfectly. The two best cuts were the deserved smashes: ***"Dreams"*** a brisk, charging number combining low-key tension and full-on rock, and the melancholic, string-swept break-up song ***"Linger"***.
***”Everyone Else is Doing It, So Why Can’t We?”*** captured a fledgling band at their best, refreshingly free of the bombast, bluster and harshness of some of their later work, and weaving soft and subtle sonic spells.

One of the seminal groups of the Eighties, ***[The Smiths'](https://bit.ly/36dS4Ye)*** career was as brilliant as it was brief. Now, drawing on interviews with band members, producers, and colleagues, music journalist ***Simon Goddard*** presents a meticulous chronological survey of the group's musical evolution, from their first demos in 1982 to their final fractured studio session five years later.
Investigating the stories behind the songs, and detailing every British TV and radio session, he also offers a unique analysis of each track's concert life. Granted unprecedented access to ***The Smiths'*** studio archives and to the private collection of outtakes and rehearsals retained by drummer ***[Mike Joyce](https://bit.ly/3KT3KOU)***, the author of “***Songs That Saved Your Life The Art of The Smiths 1982-87***” (***[Titan Books](https://bit.ly/3xoZ6Vi)***, 2013) lifts the lid on unreleased material as well as the lost songs and alternate versions that have remained closely guarded secrets until now.

***"Elastica"*** were a British rock band formed in London in 1992.
In mid-1992, ex-**Suede** band members **[Justine Frischmann](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Justine_Frischmann)** and **[Justin Welch](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Justin_Welch)** decided to form a group. By the autumn of that year, bassist **[Annie Holland](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Annie_Holland)** and guitarist **[Donna Matthews](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donna_Matthews)** were added.
After playing more shows and demoing new material in the first half of 1996, Elastica entered the studio in the later part of the year to begin work on their second album.
After re-recording most of these songs in mid-1999, their second proper album, ***”The Menace”***, was released in April 2000. After the release the band announced their amicable break-up.
The main difference between 1st and 2nd is the preponderance of eerie, slower numbers, something totally absent from the debut. These are often built on layers of synths and tend to be considerably more reflective than the rest of the material, demonstrating the band's musical progression. It may not be the huge progression that some groups make after five years, but it is certainly a consolidation of their strengths and a restatement of purpose as Elastica the art-punk band.
***”Human”*** is sixth song on second Elastica’s album ***"[The Menace](https://lbry.tv/@OrganizamStar:8/Elastica---The-Menace:c)"***, release under the **”[Deceptive](https://www.discogs.com/label/7410-Deceptive)”** Record label.
