Syrian doctor on life in Syria: His medical studies were free
Dr. Amer Ghantous on life in Syria (hint: free medical, and all, studies) surprised his Norwegian friends.
He encourages people to visit Syria and see for themselves, specifically noting that corporate media won't highlight or share voices like his.
More from Dr. Ghantous and his experiences working in Daraa governorate in March 2011 soon (hint: Al Jazeera lied and lied and lied some more). ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2CLDm90fns

In Prague, I speak with Dirk Pohlmann, who has done considerable research into the workings of Wikipedia, including why certain smear edits cannot be reversed, no matter who tries.
Pohlmann also mentions a German former conscientious objector who later went on to volunteer in the Israeli army, changing his name from Jörg Egerer to Jörg Mathias Claudius Grünewald, and his involvement in editing numerous Wikipedia entries.
Having a smear entry myself, I was quite curious to hear what Dirk Pohlmann had to say on Wikipedia.

On September 11, 2018, I visited the home of Shadi Yousef Shehda, whose three young children, wife and mother were murdered by a terrorist missile attack on September 7, killing 11 people (some who died after initial critical injuries).
This brave man insisted on showing me the children's room, belongings, and photos of them, including in this video.
This is the hell which tormented residents have been enduring bravely for years. When #Idlib is liberated, the terrorism will end.

The San Agustín – Parque Central line was one of the first cable cars in Caracas, built at time of Hugo Chavez (2010), purely for transportation for the people who live in the barrios.
It serves four stations between hilltop barrios. Before the cable car, people living in these barrios took 3 or 4 buses, taking as many hours, to go down into the city, or walked down—impossible for disabled, elderly, pregnant women—or would simply just not come down at all for extended periods.
Integrated into the metro system, this is an effectively free system of transportation (I went on the metro a number of times and never saw anyone buying tickets, nor ticket vendors).
Paul Dobson (Venezuelanalysis): “For a lot of people it's free; for those who pay, it's a tiny price—much less than a cup of coffee.”

Going to look into this more deeply, because I know this wretched Istanbul-based war propagandist [ https://twitter.com/Elizrael/status/1237794373183639559] is lying about a bread crisis in Syria, however for the moment here is from yesterday in Damascus, also including video footage from a few days prior.
Bread is being distributed to people at home, to discourage crowds in public.
*
My related comments:
Generally, you will commonly see lines around government bakeries, but I've seen that always here, nothing new: because the government-subsidized bread is so damn cheap (50 Syrian pounds/big bag of bread) that people are willing to stand and wait for their turn.
With a friend yesterday, we headed to one of my many government subsidized bakeries in the area to find no lines: a few days or more ago, the government started a distribution program, to cut down on people lining up in public these days.
This was explained to us by men we met outside a government bakery.
To prevent crowds, the government has for each neighbourhood someone responsible for distributing bread. The families are registered, including the number of people. For every 3 or 4 people, they receive 8 pieces of bread, etc.
Each bag of 8 pieces is 50 liras. Currently, the blackmarket rate for the Syrian pound is around 1000 liras to the US dollar. So 50 liras is a negligible amount of money, even for the poorest families.
Everywhere I went, I saw bread available, mostly private bakeries, but nonetheless, available. And again, the government subsidized bread is being distributed around districts, as I later saw in videos sent to me and online.
I wanted to go to the exact area in question that the war propagandist had tweeted (from Turkey) about, however there are restrictions on traveling between cities and countryside now, the governments initiative to reduce the possible spread of Corona.
So, while I'm not able to go to that district, what I can say is that the photo she tweeted about neither shows a massively long line, nor depicts her claims.
What it actually shows is people waiting, on a busy main street, to receive the government-subsidized bread, being distributed for 50 Syrian pounds. Again, this is to keep people from crowding at government-subsidized bakeries.

In Syria last week, I gave an interview to Emy Abbas for the program, Syria Insider.
We discussed the vibe around the presidential elections, what I saw during and after, including a massive celebration in central Damascus, and the criminal western sanctions against the Syrian people.

During my last trip to Donetsk, over the Christmas & New Years holidays, I joined RT in some reporting. We filmed Artem Zhoga, commander of the Sparta Reconnaissance Battalion, on NY's eve:
"What are we fighting against? We are fighting against injustice, against genocide—the genocide of the Russian-speaking population, the dissident population, those who do not think like the, nationalists, the Nazis—against this Russophobia that has formed in the Western world.
Against the genocide of the civilian population, because there is no other way to call the enemy's firing on institutions such as the Kalinin hospital, schools, the city center, and the market district. There is no other way to call it, this is precisely the genocide of the civilian population."

A Syrian American friend, Johnny Achi, flew to Syria expressly to vote in the elections. Yesterday, in Douma, he told me:
“I'm a Syrian citizen and have lived in the United States for about 30 years. I'm here in Damascus to exercise my rights and duties as a Syrian citizen, since the US chose to close our embassies. As long as the embassies are closed, we're going to keep making the trip here, to exercise our duty and our democratic right.
I chose Douma, in eastern Ghouta, under the “rebels” until 2018, to show that there is a big turnout here, people are happy to be back in government controlled area. Everyone I talked to outside is so jubilant that they got rid of all of Jaysh al-Islam, Faylaq al-Rahman, and all those brigades that were making their lives miserable.
The United States will not accept any of the candidates. They decided that this election is illegal. Their excuse this time is how can you have a democratic election when you have land under occupation. But the land is occupied by Turkey and the United States. If they would leave us alone, we would have freed those three provinces and would have all fourteen provinces under Syrian control.
But this vote will help us liberate those provinces still under occupation.”
