Homemade chicken stock and noodle soup: A modified recipe from @ChefJeanPierre
Ingredients used: Chicken, water, onions, celery, carrots, thyme, garlic, bay leaves, peppercorns, salt, basil, green pepper, chipotle pepper, cornstarch.
Stock: I use a whole chicken and save the breast meat for something else. Slow-boiling the ingredients and carcass for 75 minutes. Do not add salt to the stock.
Soup: Then shred the leg meat and set aside. Sweat the onions for the soup and then add the ingredients for another 20-minute simmer. Salt and pepper to taste. Add some cornstarch near the end to thicken the soup. Cook noodles separately to order and refrigerate any leftover soup without the noodles in the broth.

Both on the same netbooks, model Acer Aspire One D255. On the left I am running Ubuntu 10.10 Netbook Remix Edition. On the right is the standard Operating System that came with the netbook, Windows 7 Starter Edition. This test is performed after removing the junk trial software that comes with it, and I installed a few solid programs on it: DropBox, ClamAV Antivirus. End of the video I got a little surprise from Windows, (once it decided it was going to load). Both machines have the same internal hardware and specs, the one on the left has a 6 cell battery, the right has 3 (the only difference), and both machines have both operating systems on them, I was just comparing the load times. The shut down times are even more radically different than the boot times, I should have added that part with this!
