This video just talks about the Survival Myth (read bad info) that has been floating around YouTube and the internet for a while now, and that is that you NEED/Must have a carbon steel knife to spark a ferro rod. I think this myth was primarily originated by folks who are selling all carbon steel untreated knives, can't blame them for trying to make cash, but personally I don't care for the misleading information. As you will see in this video that is not true at all and ferro rods can be sparked by a ton of different items! Also I'm not confusing this with the need to have carbon steel for sparking a flint or for using a hard rock to get sparks off of the spine of a carbon steel knife. That is totally separate. I am referring folks saying you need carbon steel spark a ferrocerrium rod, metal match, fire steel or whatever other name you might have for it. Enjoy!
