1906 WATERBURY GINGERBREAD MANTEL CLOCK
Today I am working on this clock that still ran, but didn't know the history on this clock. Besides the case lost all the finish, the brass right that held the glass was very dirty and found out the movement was very rusty on the shafts of the gears, I knew this clock was a choice of mine to make it look new again.
I take the movement apart and clean it, polish the movement plates, show how to get the two main springs out of the clock with no damage to the gears, clean the main springs and get them wound up again before installing the gears. I use Zip-ties.

Here I do most of my work on clocks. Mainly cuckoo clocks, yet I am always looking for the unusual and eye catching clocks. Some of the clocks I get into are ones that need saved from the dump. They fell off the wall from not securing the clock to the wall using the stud behind the sheetrock. Some of the clocks were laid to rest out in the garage or barn and I except the challenge of getting them back together again.
A well loved clock at one time is one that has a lot of wear and you find old bushings that might need to be replaced.

This Bird Cage Clock I found just might be Vintage. I don't really know and if you can find any information on this clock, you are very welcome to put it in the comments so we all can know.
The movement has no markings and is very clean when I opened the clock. I oiled the movement and started to tick like it was meant too. I had some heavy duty cleaning to the outside of the clock and now it almost looks brand new. This clock could have been made in Japan.

Not too sure of the age of this clock, but I am thinking around 1923. The older Rail Road clocks have a heavier weight for their clock. This was sold by Sears, but made in Germany for Sears. I found this movement very clean and just oiled the movement. The clock box was damaged and I did use some Black walnut wood to repair it. I am not sure that the wood on this box was Black Walnut.
