I know the audio is jacked, I am trying to figure out something, all I really have are DSLR mics, Rode, Mic Lav etc.. they don't work with my laptop or iMac On July 14.2020 between 3 and 4 pm I entered the CDC main entrance road CDC Parkway, I was just turning around as I was going the wrong way on Clifton Road. This is the main entrance , there are no restricted area signs, in fact there were visitor signs, some minor construction work and inviting signs that show it was a public road. I am a photographer and while I was turning I took some images of the beautiful mirror building landscape, I presented no threat. I am 51. I was attacked extremely aggressively by an officer ( A. Peterson) as I was about to turn around, he was yelling and walked fast to my vehicle he reached in my car and took my Canon camera out of the passenger seat and GoPro out of my hand, he then detained me until other officers showed up, he would not release my cameras before I was allowed to leave without a warning or ticket he also deleted all of the footage on my GoPro that showed him reaching in my car, he deleted evidence, except 1 GoPro I hid.. I am requesting a full investigation into this matter as many of my civil rights were violated, I am coming forward now as I truly believed there was some secret law your officer told me about during the initial engagement and I have stayed away from any kind of government building because of that and recently I found out that your officer lied and assaulted my civil liberties beyond recognition. I was protected by the 1st amendment that day, Freedom of press as I am a journalist collecting content for a story at that time. When that officer took my personal property from my car without probable cause that I committed a crime he effectively stole them and when doing so he directly violated my 1st amendment right to film in public. When he deleted my media by his hands or through mine he directly violated my 1st amendment right. When I was searched my 4th amendment right went straight into the trash, not only did your officer violate that when he searched my car for the camera several officers on scene did too. He unlawfully made my produce my identification under threat of arrest, again, no probable cause. Let’s not even get into removing me from my car while dangling my cameras and continued detainment. A. Peterson will remember this day very well, I have open records the body worn cameras and front entrance cameras roughly at 3:20PM is when I estimated what time it was from different media sources. I have lived in fear for over a year, I have overcome that fear recently and now I am looking to settle the score and reverse the tables in the direction they should have been when I was stopped that your front entrance. Understand my car can be seen in a turning around position when stopped NOT headed towards the gate, I can care less what you guys do but you are a tax payer funded organization and I have every right to be on a public road taking pictures of whatever I can see from the public space I was in meaning the space I was in was not restricted to the public and anyone could have accidentally turned on CDC Parkway and I bet they do and I bet they take pics with their phones. I would also like to request a return email that this has been received and is being investigated. I can’t move forward without that. They passed by an apartment complex in a busy area to get to the broken down car. Richard Russell, Christopher Brown and Jerry Martinez were conducting a narcotics investigation at the exact time the men cam to get their car. Chris brown mistook the men for drug Valera's because they left the area abruptly. Chris brown pulled the men over, eventually extracting them from the vehicle and for whatever reason the young adult in the car, Jermaine Jones had a knew jerk reaction jumped up and ran. He was tased and beat for hours until he died after falling into a coma. The GBI crime lab listed the death as a homicide and the officers involved have all been cleared. It took me a year to get the body cam and case files as the Richmond County Sheriffs Office is still to this day not releasing the records. The records are no longer part of any criminal litigation.
