Kızıldeniz'den 8-10 yıl önce göç ettiği belirlenen tropikal bir tür olan deniz kestanesinin İsrail, Lübnan ve Mısır kıyılarında da görüldüğü bildirilmişti. Zehirli, tropikal, dikenli tür. İnsan teniyle temas etmesi halinde dikenleri aracılığıyla zehirler. Zehrinin öldürücü etkisi yok ama alerjisi olan kişiler için riskli olabilir. Dikkatli olunması ve görüldüğünde temastan kaçınılması, dikenlerinden korunmak gerekiyor. Bende balıklara bu deniz kestanelerini yemeyi öğretiyorum böylece üzerlerinde bir avcı baskısı oluşturulmuş olacak.
