Multi-Track Mixing program no longer sold (was integrated into FL Studio).
FruityTracks is a tool for mixing your music and/or FruityLoops material into a song, together with voices and other samples. FruityTracks contains an unlimited number of horizontal tracks where you drag your Fruityloops, string and voice samples.
Samples can be faded in or out or repeated by expanding them with your mouse. It uses DirectSound to mix the samples (some effects available).
? History:
In 1997 Dambrin gained an interest in music applications of the time such as Hammerhead and Rebirth 338, and developed a simple MIDI-only drum machine in an effort to merge the two products into a step sequencer that utilized both rows and steps. Dubbed FruityLoops 1.0, the program didn't fit with Image-Line's other product lines of the time. However, the demo version released in December 1997 became so popular that the number of downloads quickly overwhelmed the Image-Line servers. To gather income to support their servers, Image-Line had Dambrin develop a Dance eJay clone called FruityTracks.

Many programmers have since created additional freeware and payware modules for use within SynthEdit's programming environment.
SynthEdit can export creations to VST format.

Cakewalk is a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) first developed by Twelve Tone Systems, Inc. (the company later known as Cakewalk, Inc.).
Originally for DOS, starting with version Cakewalk 1.0 in 1987, and, beginning in 1991, for Windows 3.0. Cakewalk, until version 4.0 required an MPU-401 MIDI interface card operating in intelligent mode, while 4.0 and later versions relied on the dumb UART mode only.
Cakewalk was delivered in two versions, Cakewalk Pro and Cakewalk Express.

? Software Description:
Schism Tracker is a free and open-source reimplementation of Impulse Tracker, a program used to create high quality music without the requirements of specialized, expensive equipment, and with a unique "finger feel" that is difficult to replicate in part. The player is based on a highly modified version of the Modplug engine, with a number of bugfixes and changes to improve IT playback.
Where Impulse Tracker was limited to i386-based systems running MS-DOS, Schism Tracker runs on almost any platform that SDL supports, and has been successfully built for Linux, Mac OS X, Windows, FreeBSD, AmigaOS, BeOS, and even the Wii. Most development is currently done on 64-bit Linux. Schism will most likely build on any architecture supported by GCC4 (e.g. alpha, m68k, arm, etc.) but it will probably not be as well-optimized on many systems.
