Super Mario World released for the Super Famicom on November 21st, 1990 in Japan. With the popularity of the NES in North America, and the dominance of Super Mario Bros. 3, combined with the new era being ushered in with the SNES and Super Mario World, Mario Mania was at it's peak in the early 90's. Mario began showing up in all kinds of different forms, shows, movies, comics, you name it. As his popularity grew he began showing up in different games as well.
