Chao Phraya river Bangkok - Taking "Hop On-Hop Off" Ferry to Grand Palace
Just a quick check-in as we make our way up the Chao Phraya river to the Grand Palace. Its a fun ride and for only $6 to ride the boat as much as you want I think it's a great combo of transportation and entertainment... at least for this Farrang :--) ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iu93D32nyX4
Continuing on from a previous video { https://youtu.be/2z3MB03oV0M } from when I arrived at The Old Siam Shopping Plaza, I thought I'd just take a quick few minutes and show you my loot!
It was surprisingly easy to find the audio connectors I was looking for as well as a soldering iron and some decent solder. All for a very low price. Thank You AMORN Electronics!
As I was taking a few minutes to get all my stuff together, I then looked on my phone at Google Maps to try and find the easiest way home. Luckily, there is an MRT stop near by. The beauty of the public transit in Bangkok is that once I get to either the MTS or the BTS I can pretty much get to where I need to go Very Easily.
As I was looking at the map, planning , my walk, I see "Giant Swing" on the map. "Well! Cleeeeeearly THAT is something I must check out!" my brain says to me.
So, stay tuned for the next video (don't worry I'll upload it shortly after this one) where I walk over to said Giant Swing.
Bangkok has a TON of things to do!!! and while I have mentioned them before in a few posts as well as VLOGs the guys who do "The Bangkok Podcast", who have lived here for almost 20 years, each, constantly comment about how there are STILL new things they find to do.
This is a gross understatement.
Bangkok, with all its imperfections, still remains one of my TOP favorite cities in the world... and there is not even a Beach Here!!!! Crazy, that I would ever have an degree of affinity to a Big City with concrete and traffic everywhere and no beach but Bangkok, for some reason Really fits me well!
Thanks for watching.

In the previous video "Ao Manao Beach - Prachuap Khiri Khan (part 1)"
{ https://youtu.be/qiKMG_N1LUs } Gracie and I walked down to the end of Ao Manao beach here in Prachuap Khiri Khan. As we started walking back... well, as I started walking back and Gracie sat in the shade of a nearby tree, protecting herself from the death-rays of the mighty red-yellow ball in the sky.. yeh know, because she's Asian ;-)
I pause, however briefly, and realized the THIS was one of those "views" that I had had in my mind. One of those "pictures" or maybe even "fantasies" of what my life would be like or what a day might be like when I "moved to Thailand"
I was reviewing my YouTube channel the other day and in one of the descriptions I stated that "my goal is to move to Thailand by ~April 2018". I landed at Suvarnabhumi, Bangkok International Airport on 21 November, 2019. So, I am *really* happy with that. about 18 months past my original goal is VERY acceptable for me.
In fact, I'm still "pinching myself" MANY times per week.
I am THE Luckiest Guy In The World!
I genuinely hope that you feel the same way about your life!

After setting up our tent in record time, Gracie and I take a walk through the trains of Grape Island. Indeed its a magical place for me. A place where I was blessed to live arguably THE best childhood a guy could ever ask for.
The Boston Harbor Islands *in the summer* are always so green and clean. Its always a pleasure to experience when tax dollars really do go to the preservation of nature. In this case, via the DCR (Department of Conservation & Recreation) or through the amazing donations of people to the Trustees of Reservations.
Thanks for watching. Hope you enjoy it.

This has been my second experience at Thai Immigration. This time at the ENORMOUS building and Government complex of Chaeng Wattana.
It was a "walk in the park". Each person I interfaced with was at a minimum professional and cordial, and at times, friendly and smiling.
As this was my first time at Bangkok Immigration I had pretty realistic expectations: I assumed that I would get there, not no where to go, be presenting with some signs of instruction as well as lack of instruction. I figured I would likely be confused at times, get impatient, and possibly frustrated.
I had Zero negative experiences.
Much like my experience I had at the Phetchaburi Immigration offices
(link to video here: https://youtu.be/vk8uv8eItxY )
that Gracie and I went to when we were living in Cha-Am, the people were helpful and the process was actually quite efficient. I was treated with respect and at all times felt like if I had and questions, if was patient, then I would likely get an answer within a reasonable amount time.
So, after entering the building and filling out my TM47 form, I received my number in the queue about 9:15am waited from about 9:20am until 9:50am, so approximately 35 minutes +/- and was completely done with everything and sending Gracie a smiley-face in WhatsApp just before 10:00am.
Honestly, considering this was the first time I was doing a 90 days report and therefore I *needed* to physically go into the actual office, I cannot image a way that it could have been easier... I mean, sure, I could have been the ONLY person there and there could have been zero wait, similar to the experience when I entered the Land Transport Office
( link to video here: https://youtu.be/a3NBJgH9-_A )
in Phetchaburi Province when I got my Thai Driver's Licences near Cha-Am, but really - this was More than Acceptable!!
So, once again, Thank You Thai Immigration!
I'm happy to say that I am GRATEFULLY Living the Dream in the Land Of Smiles.
Thank You Thailand.

Part 2 in the Ao Nang Beach, Krabi, Thailand series of beach walking and exploration.
As part of my AirAsia Unlimited Pass, I headed down to Krabi, took a minivan for only 150 THB to Ao Nang beach and began a vacation that ended up turning into an EXCELLENT week of reflection, prioritization, thinking, planning and gratitude.
Here's video #2 of... several.
Stay tuned :-)
Here's the Agoda link to the SEA SEEKER KRABI RESORT that I got to stay at for 3 nights.
