We have another genius vegan soyentist flexing his intellectual muscle as he "debunks" the carnivore diet. You better listen up suckas, this kid is for real because what he says is "reality". Because he says it is.
FML, these clowns drive me up a wall, sometimes. I have a hard time deciding if this kid is just a moron, or if he sucks on purpose. Either way, he is dead wrong.
Now look, the carnivore diet could be detrimental to your health long-term, but it's not because of anything this tree-hugger has to say; not because of the all-meat diet study in question here. This muppet completely misrepresents said study, while pretending he doesn't "care what you eat". A vegan who has an anti-keto/carnivore channel with one BS video after another "debunking" people who don't eat his way, misrepresenting the science and outright lying, doesn't care what you eat? It's settled, then. The fucker is a liar.
Anyway, onto the actual study conducted on Arctic explorers Vilhjalmur Stefansson and Dr. Karsten Andersen. The two men ate nothing but meat and fat for a year, while they and their health was closely monitored. Right after their nearly zero-carb diet was discontinued, they were given the Oral Glucose Tolerance Test, which consisted of drinking 100 grams of glucose dissolved in water with 20ml of orange juice added for flavor. Predictably, their carbohydrate-starved fat-burning metabolism freaked out when given this huge bolus of sugar suddenly. Everybody in the low-carb community KNOWS THIS!!!! The men exhibited what would be considered diabetic blood sugar levels today, had the OGTT conditions, such as no carbohydrate restriction while eating a standard diet prior to the test and a test administering 75g of glucose, were met. Neither one of those conditions was met, thus it is completely PSEUDOSCIENTIFIC to say the OGTT determined they were diabetic. The joker whose video I am critiquing, doesn't seem to know this or care. Be that as it may, after the men in the study were put on a carbohydrate-rich standard diet for at least two weeks, their blood sugar levels after ingesting more than 100 grams of sugar were perfectly normal, proving they were not diabetic. They "passed" the OGTT with flying colors. But the vegan moron says they were diabetic. WTF? Simply put, their metabolism had adapted to a LCHF diet, producing less insulin, and was temporarily maladapted to huge dietary sugar spikes. However, once carbohydrates were reintroduced to their diet, their blood sugar levels normalized.
Then, there's also the question of Andersen's and Stefansson's elevated cholesterol levels. Elevated according to current medical and dietary industry standards. The same industry supposedly dedicated to eradicating heart disease by attacking cholesterol. The same indust
