Today I try to start getting geared with Cactus armor in the desert and get quickly reminded that revengeance mode is active and well. Nobody said the Terraria Calamity Death Mode playthrough was going to be easy, and we haven’t even seen any of the death mode bosses just yet. We have the option of either taking on the Desert Scourge or the Eye of Cthulhu in the coming future, but the question is which one is more forgiving? Death mode is triggered by going to an alter and crafting death, an item which costs no ingredients and is free, and using the item. Death can only be activated and deactivated while Revengeance Mode is active and will instantly kill the player and despawn any active bosses if used while a boss is alive.
